We all know that to perform at a professional level in ice skating, people spend years practicing. To be successful in this particular sport, skaters must possess some very specific things — determination, stamina, athleticism, and creativity. Especially when it comes to pairs skating, couples know they have to be in sync with everything they do.
Usually, couples who compete in ice skating know the importance of putting on a great show for everyone in attendance, regardless of age. To do that, they have to come up with routines that are unique, fun, and exciting. But depending on the music they choose, some skating pairs like to add a little bit of sexiness to their routine.
One duo made their routine so sensual, it almost melted the ice
This performance took place back in 2017. At that time, Tessa Virtue (yes, that’s her real last name) and Scott Moir, put on a show that no one will soon forget. Keep in mind that just because their routine was steamy didn’t make it distasteful…just highly memorable. People around the world can’t get enough of their video with one poster commenting, “WOW…LOVE IT!”
Their song choices were perfect
Considering their black costumes and the moves they do, the two songs they chose were ideal. The first number was Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones. The second song, Ove Como Va, performed by Santana. From their very first pose, you can feel the intensity between these two.
What a way to get started
As the music begins, you hear a distinct drum beat. To that, Moir crouches a little lower to the rink floor while Virtue gives her hips a quick jerk followed by raising one arm upward. They haven’t really done anything yet but it’s already feeling a little steamy.
Those moves are hot
Moir reaches over and gently touches the waist of his partner. In response, she turns away from him and shakes her body. The pair then skates off, doing one incredible move after another. When watching the video, you can see Virtue rolling her shoulders quite a bit, which adds to the sultriness of the routine.
They’re beautifully synchronized
After doing a small jump Virtue falls into step with her partner. No matter the moves they do, their bodies are always perfectly aligned. One viewer had this to say, “That’s actually the supreme professionalism of this pair…each action planned out and delivered with utmost perfection.” No one could’ve said it better about this skating duo.
The momentum doesn’t stop after their first number
The second song they chose is slow and sensual. Already, this duo has made an impression on the audience. But now as the second song plays, their body chemistry becomes all the more obvious. With every spin, jump, and lift, Moir makes sure to keep Virtue safe.
I don’t know if these two are a couple in real life or just two people 100 percent dedicated to their craft, but they gave a fantastic performance worth watching. To enjoy it for yourself, check out the video below.
