She’s been captivating audiences with her sensational performances on and after ‘The Voice Kids’ 2018.
Lucy was immediately offered a recording contract by Cavendish Records after the show. Her eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Premiere’ was released on the 1st of February, 2019.
Since then, Lucy has been releasing content on her YouTube channel as well.
She’s also featured duets with her sister Martha, the sisters quickly becoming online sensations with their soulful vocals as they cover classic hits and Christmas songs when the season arrives
Here’s Lucy and Martha Thomas with a rendition of another classic, “The Prayer”.
The classical crossover duet was originally recorded by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion.
It’s become a timeless ballad, one that seemingly transcends time and generations.
For good reason too.
The song wasn’t originally planned as a duet though. “The Prayer” was first recorded in two solo versions.
It was meant for the movie Quest for Camelot.
One version was recorded in English by Dion, and another in Italian by Bocelli.
But it is the duet between Dion and Bocelli that’s the most popular version of the song.
Lines are recorded and sang in both English and Italian. Search for it and you’ll know why.
The sisters now take the helm of another duet.
Lucy and Martha sound unbelievable. Such powerful voices without being shouty or unpleasant.
Theirs is a pleasant tone full of control, just adding beauty to a wonderful song.
A viewer named L H loved it so much saying,
“Your voices together are incredibly beautiful. Lucy, this song is perfect for your voice. You sound like an angel. Martha, I absolutely love your voice. Your lower register is captivating. I love that you are great at harmonizing and not taking away from each other by out-singing. It’s the perfect blend.”
Just listen to the sisters. Incredible!
It’s a no nonsense video, just Lucy and Martha facing each other, trading lines in English and Italian with candles in the background.
The song asks for peace, guidance and kindness.
It has proven popular during memorial services. Interpretation of the lyrics vary but it it entitled “The Prayer”, so it is one.
David Pettman commented, “This version of the “The Prayer” should be heard by the world , uplifting and inspiring, loved by those l have shared with, you deserve a bigger platform to share your God given talents, many blessings to you both.”
The sisters are so talented it’s easy to miss how they increase the intensity as they go higher and higher, unleashing their voices as if attempting to pierce the heavens.
And they do it so well, not trying to outdo or outshine the other, instead blending and adapting to each other’s style.
