Lennon and Maisy are 21 and 17 years old, respectively, but this viral video was recorded back in 2014, so that makes the depth of their vocals even more impressive!
The Oshawa, Ontario natives have gotten pretty famous over the last 8 years and have moved to Nashville to continue their careers.
Born to musical parents – who are also a musical duo known as The Stellas – Lennon and Maisy grew up around music. Believe it or not, they have no formal training despite their amazing voices and multiple musical instruments!
You may recognize the pair from the ABC series Nashville, which is now in its 5th season – they play Maddie and Daphne. But they went viral even before that with a cover of Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend” posted to YouTube in 2012. It now has over 30 million views!
It goes without saying then that when these young women want to cover a song, people are going to tune in.
So that’s why their performance of “That’s What’s Up,” originally by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes is still being viewed by thousands of people each day.
With the first verse of the lyrics written out behind them, the girls launch into a beautiful rendition of the song – and people had a hard time believing those voices were real.
“How the h$ll does a 11yr old sing like that?” asked one commenter, incredulously.
As the lyrics roll by it’s hard not to be mesmerized by their harmonies. And it’s just the two girls and a guitar! Their sound is magnificent.
“Both of these girls are exceptionally talented, it’s pretty mind blowing,” another viewer remarked.

Believe it or now, Lennon and Maisy’s cover has over 3 times as many views as the original artist’s video! People just can’t stop watching.

Thanks to this video and the Robyn cover, Lennon and Maisy have had fans for nearly a decade.

While the duo hasn’t added a video to YouTube in about a year, that doesn’t mean they’re not busy. They’ve had to put their 2020 tour on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but they’re still making music.
