The Grand Ole Opry is one of the most famous venues and shows for high quality Country Western Music. Many of the greatest performers have started their careers on this famous broadcast. So it’s no surprise why sisters Lennon and Maisy melted hearts during a live broadcast.
The humblest gratitude
The video opens with the stage lights shining on two sisters taking their places on the Opry stage. The girls introduce themselves, sharing how thankful they are to have a chance to play for the CMA fest. You can hear the pride and joy in the older sister’s voice as well as how intimidating it must be.
But then, just as the stage hand fixes the younger sister’s mic, she gets the chance to speak. Her response is just as humble and sweet as her older sister’s with the same level of awe and respect for the opportunity they’ve been given. Even if it isn’t their first time performing at the Opry, it still feels great to be there as shown by what the younger sister says:
“Someone please pinch me, this is, like incredible.”
Flames went higher
As the lights dim, the sisters strum their guitars and hop on in. Country music fans will recognize the song as Johnny Cash’s hit “Ring of Fire”. The girls dive right in with a harmony that is undeniably charming and easy to listen to. The twang of the guitars is just loud enough to be heard and felt without distracting from their voices.
It’s clear that this performance is a treat for the ears, but don’t let that distract you. Make sure you check out the sisters’ faces and see how focused they are. Every note, every line of lyrics, every moment is captured and nailed with a style that you won’t see outside of a professional.
It burns, burns, burns
The sisters continue the performance with a vocal talent that takes Johnny Cash’s hit single and makes it their own. From the chorus to the bridge, you will fall in love with this enchanting performance.
It’s no surprise why the crowd goes wild. You can’t be blamed if you turn down the volume a few notches as the crowd roars in celebration of the sisters. It’s especially fun to see how focused the sisters remain, as they sing and strum without missing a beat.
From another view
The focus camera shifts during the middle parts of the video. First we see a side ways view that zooms in so we can best see the sisters intense concentration. The shot also shows just how much these two young girls command the stage and your attention.
Later the camera shifts to arearward view. This emphasizes how massive the crowd is compared to the two sisters. It’s also a great taste of what it must have been like to play beneath the stage lights to hundreds you might never get to meet.
The ring of fire
When the song comes to a close, the girls transform before your very eyes. The humble smiles from the start return as the crowd erupts into applause. It’s hard not to fall in love with this performance as the video finally ends.
