The musically gifted doctor is spreading hope where he can, and is sharing his voice to lift weary spirits—for patients and fatigued fellow doctors alike.
Francois believes and understands that during a time like this, the best thing we can do is stick together.
The doctor stresses that bonding and community are important now more than ever. He views the pandemic as an opportunity for us to lift one another up.
Music is universal, a language that all of us speak, and something that can penetrate any barrier and span the globe.
Francois speaks on the uncertainty of our times:
“There’s a lot of anxiety, there’s a lot of fear, and for me whenever I’ve had those moments in my personal life, music has always been something that I’ve found I’ve been able to gravitate towards and sort of bring things to ease.”
The surgeon’s goal is to spread the healing power of music far and wide, sharing it with millions of people.
Together, with some musically gifted peers, he’s recorded various music videos, covering well-known songs with his dynamic vocal cords.
His perspective is refreshing:
“Medicine I’ve found goes only so far, and surgery only goes so far, but music goes places that medicine can’t go.”
And Francois won’t stop singing until we’re all connected. He recently commented on Instagram:
“In life, there are so many things that divide us. Religion, race, politics, social status and many more….But today a global pandemic brings us all together as one. Over the next few months our health care system will be tested. Many lives will be lost. Health care providers will be under an incredible amount of stress to save thousands of people. But when times are as dark as they are today, nothing shines brighter than the human spirit.”
Recently he covered John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’, which he also performed live on CBS, collaborating with their anchor Vlad Duthiers. He also did an impromptu performance for the Today Show, covering the famous song ‘Lean On Me’.
You can find Francois singing across the internet. He is active on YouTube and Instagram.
His voice has gotten him a lot of attention in recent years, including a spot on the Ellen Show.
His powerful songs, coupled with his motivational words are exactly the dose of medicine we all need right now.
