Singer Stuns Judges With His Six-Octave Vocal Range
This singer hit some truly incredible notes in his audition for 'The World's Best.'

Dinmukhamed Kudaibergen, aka Dimash, has an incredible voice that has amazed millions of people. Dimash is only 24 years old, but he has already become famous around the world for his six-octave vocal range.

In early 2019, Dimash made waves in the U.S. with his amazing audition for ‘The World’s Best.’

Dimash was born in Aktobe, Kazakhstan in 1994. His family is filled with musical talent—his mother is an opera singer and his grandfather plays the traditional Kazakh instrument the dombra. Since his family was so musical, they quickly recognized Dimash’s talent. He began performing in local theaters at a young age.

In 2010, when Dimash was 16, he began competing in vocal competitions throughout Kazakhstan.

Dimash won many of these competitions, and in 2013, he was invited to perform in Turkey. This was his first taste of international fame.

Dimash graduated from college in 2014 and then began touring in various European and Asian countries. He was especially popular in Russia and China. In 2016, he released his first EP, which won him the People’s Favorite Pop Artist Award in Kazakhstan.

In 2017, Dimash became a household name in China after competing in ‘The Voice China.’ He ended up finishing second.

This show launched Dimash into a new level of stardom at home in Kazakhstan and in China. Dimash said he loved his time on the show. He also said that he was glad that he could teach more people about his culture.

“I feel a lot of pride. I’m proud of my country, my land, my nation but I also see the people of the world as one,” Dimash told Candid. “We are such a young country, so I’m proud of how my country is doing…We are a very friendly people, so you should all come and visit soon.”

After getting so much acclaim in Russia and China, Dimash decided that he wanted to try his luck in the U.S. And so, he signed on for a new talent competition, The World’s Best.

The World’s Best is a CBS show that began airing in February 2019. This show features talented performers from around the world. The artists perform for three American judges—RuPaul, Drew Barrymore, and Faith Hill. They’re also judged by the ‘Wall of the World’—a panel of 50 entertainment experts from around the world.

Dimash quickly showed his talent in his first audition the show. He performed “S.O.S. d’un terrien en detresse”, and he showed off his famous six-octave rang. The video quickly went viral, receiving over five million views.

Dimash easily made it into the next round of the show, the battle-round. There, he performed “All by Myself”, another choice that showed off his range.

Dimash made it into the final round of the show, the championship round, along with 13-year-old pianist Lydian Nadhaswaram and 12-year-old singer Daneliya Tuleshova. Dimash decided to withdraw from the competition to let the two young performers battle it out for the win.
