If you’ve been waiting for months to turn on your TV and watch your favorite coaches spin around in their chairs, you’re in luck. The Voice is back for season 17!

This is the first season of The Voice without Adam Levine as one of the coaches. Adam was one of the original coaches, but chose not to return for this season and was replaced by Gwen Stefani.

Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend returned from the previous season as coaches again. John Legend had a good season, as a first-time coach, he led Maelyn Jarmon to a win in season 16.

It seems that Blake Shelton is a little bit sore about losing to a newcomer if his comments in this episode are any proof!

The first round of The Voice is the Blind Audition and the auditions are the most-watched part of the show, on social media, TV, and YouTube.

During The Blind Audition round, hopeful singers belt out tunes in an effort to get one coach to turn around. In a perfect world, all four coaches will turn for every singer. But that obviously doesn’t always happen.

For Shane Q, his Blind Audition was as perfect as could be.

The soulful singer chose to sing “Tennessee Whiskey” (originally sung by Chris Stapleton) for his audition. It was a great choice, as it really showcased the range he has with his voice.

All four coaches were instantly intrigued by Shane’s voice. Of the four, Gwen was the first to turn around in seconds. Before she turned, she made sure to blow Blake a kiss. The song must have special meaning to them in their relationship.

By the time Shane was finished singing, all four coaches had turned their chairs. Since the entire group was interested in Shane, they all had to tell Shane why he should join the team.

While Gwen, Kelly, and John all had sincere reasons for why Shane should join their team, Blake wanted to make a joke and a point.

Blake took his time explaining things to Shane. He said:

I’ve been doing this show a long time and when season 16 wrapped up, I saw an article. And I decided, I was gonna let this article speak for me in this situation.

“Blake Shelton may have not won season 16 of The Voice, but he’s still the greatest of all time. Not only has Blake won more titles than any other coach, with six total. He’s also had more runners up and finalists as well.

In the past 16 seasons, Shelton has coached a staggering 24 to the finale.”

Blake maybe should have been a little more humble, because it did him no favors. In the end, Shane chose to join Team Kelly.

The video got over 2.6 million views on Facebook and over 1 million views on YouTube. One Facebook commenter wrote:

I loved him and actually belly laughed with the judges. More so than previous years. I thought it was a great start to the new season.
