The ‘80s really was one of the best decades right?

Even if you actually weren’t alive then, or you were only a little kid, you still can appreciate the ’80s for all of its goodness.

The fashion was incredible, because leg warmers, giant vests, and shoulder pads were all the rage. ‘80s fashion always seems to come back into style, no matter the year!

‘80s movies are classics now, seeing as the ‘80s were already 30 years ago. Can you believe that?

Back then, Madonna, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, George Michael, Elton John, and more had music taking up their airwaves. Their music is still played on the radio all the time, to this day!

That must be why Portland Sea Dogs’ mascot, Slugger, decided to do a dance mashup to a bunch of hits from the ‘80s! Slugger dressed up in a leotard and pink leg warmers to celebrate ‘80s night and to put on a show for the crowd.

For his routine, Slugger started out by dancing to Irene Cara’s “What a Feeling,” which became famous after 1983’s Flashdance. Then he broke out some big moves to Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes‘ “Time of My Life.”

The best part of the entire routine is when Slugger charged at a man of the field and was lifted into the air, like the famous scene from Dirty Dancing.

The video was shared on Minor League Baseball’s official Facebook account and since it was posted, the video has gotten 1.6 million views, 26,000 likes, and over 30,000 shares.

One Facebook user commented about their love of mascots:

Minor league mascots are awesome! I love going to minor league games. They are fan friendly and do not price gouge like the majors.

One Facebook user recounted the time they last went to a minor league game:

The last minor league game I went to, there was a race between a Corn, a Crawfish, and a Potato. People were choosing sides. It was a free-for-all. Love minor league antics. LETS GO CORN!!!!

One local commented saying how incredible this mascot is:

I don’t know if it’s been the same person for years but whoever does it usually does an amazing job. Very animated, love it!!

Slugger has been the Sea Dogs’ mascot for quite some time now. Did you know he’s actually pretty young, though? Slugger’s birthday is May 7, 1994. His favorite MILB team is obviously Portland, but his favorite MLB team is the Boston Red Sox.

It is a good thing that Slugger decided to dress up and entertain the crowd, seeing as his team lost 9-1 to Reading Fightin Phils that night.

But, who cares about baseball when someone is wearing leg warmers and dancing to ‘80s music?
