The dancers of The Lab dance studio are no strangers to being champions in the spotlight. Located in West Covina, California, this incredible performing arts studio has created professionals that have gone on to work with serious, big-time celebrity names.

“Some of our more notable work includes touring around the world with Jennifer Lopez, choreographing and producing videos for K-pop sensation BTS, Ciara, Missy Elliott, Selena Gomez and global superstar, Becky G,” The Lab notes on their website.

And if that wasn’t impressive enough, their dancers have gone on to win NBC’s ‘World of Dance,’ been featured on The Ellen Show, Good Morning America, and, to no surprise, won world championship titles.

Back in 2017, The Lab was ranked number one in the World by Hip Hop International as well as 2017 CADTD State Champs – performing an impressive must-see routine.

The all-male hip-hop group (all members of The Lab) doesn’t mess around when it comes to choreographing seriously intricate and eye-popping moves. It’s no wonder that they’ve graced the screen in multiple music videos – they’re absolute pros!

The routine that they performed during the 2017 CADTD State Championship wasn’t just an epic hip-hop dance routine – it was more of something like a theater performance. Taking place in a high school gymnasium, the guys take center stage donning barbershop wear – pink button-down shirts with red suspenders, jeans, and Converse.

Lined up next to four walls with mirrors and stools, like an old-timey barbershop, boys take their places – some in seats and the others posed as barbers.

The music starts and the faux hair-cutting begins and so does the dancing. The white cloths were dropped as everyone jumps up to perform slick and quick dance moves that are perfectly in sync.

The entire creative dance performance is absolutely full of energy – blending new-school hip-hop vibes mixing with an old-fashioned era. The guys never miss one beat as they keep everything tight and succinct.

These dancers didn’t always start dancing at The Lab. In fact, they used to just practice outside right on the asphalt.

It wasn’t until a member of The Lab spotted the dancers practicing and invited them to have an indoor practice space at their studio. Seriously impressed by the boys’ dance skills, they were even given additional training to help them grow their already amazing moves. Not to mention, helped grow their confidence, in general.

“Through West Co All-Male, I’ve learned to trust other people. To know that there are 23 others that are going through the same thing I am, and that trust me enough to do it with me, makes me trust them, too. When I’m out there, I know I’m not alone,” group member Jando Acosta told STEEZY.

During their entire heart-pumping and theatric performance, The Lab’s West Co All-Male hip-hop team lights the basketball court on fire.

The crowd is clearly in awe the entire time, watching them spin, flip, shake, and jump across the floor in perfect harmony. It’s no wonder they ended up taking the championship title.
