The school principal is the head of the administrative team within a school and is responsible for overseeing daily operations.
They coordinate staff schedules, oversee the development of curriculum and enforce school policies relating to themes like discipline or safety.
The principal also coordinates staff training days and works directly with students who need help meeting or setting goals.
They are a respectable figure seen as always serious.
They are prim and proper and are generally strict since they’re in charge of so much for their students.
By creating a positive school culture, long-term plans for the students’ academic success, and helping cultivate leadership in others, they produce new batches of professionals and future leaders.
So it comes as a huge surprise to the whole student body of Lake Mary High School when their principal joined the school’s step dance team routine to show her hidden dancing skills!
In the first part of the video, you can see the school’s pep squad performing.
Donning army pants matched with black shirts, these girls slayed the stage with their fierce routine. They looked like warrior women but with grace.
Their moves are fast-paced and perfectly in sync with one another. I
I personally liked the part when the music went down and all anyone could hear were the stomps and claps—it’s sure to give anybody goosebumps!
In a video uploaded by Becky Godwin on YouTube, a parent who attended the event that day, Dr. Mickey Reynolds can be seen joining the pep rally to help cheer the crowd.
And it really did! The crowd was cheering and screaming at the top of their lungs when they saw their honorable principal come out and take center stage.
Some were even jumping, unable to hold their excitement in the face of such a spectacle. Sure enough, the principal stomped her feet, clapped and followed the steps along with her girls. She matched their energy and swag, hyping up the students even more.
In the later part of their performance, they danced to the remix of Cardi B’s major-label debut single “Bodak Yellow.”
Dr. Reynolds set the bar higher when she swayed her hips, letting the beat flow through her body as the crowd sang along.
It’s like the students are singing for the principal and she gives back by giving her best through her dance moves!
Later, there’s a part when the principal wiggled her body downwards and the crowd lost it.
The whole time, the song’s upbeat music and the roaring crowd continued as the pep team circled the basketball court and the performance drew to a close.
Dr. Reynolds’ proved that you are not too old to try something new and have fun.
It also shows her immense love and cares for the students and the school. She made herself vulnerable by performing in front of everyone. Even though she knew she wasn’t the best dancer out there, her determination makes her all the more courageous to let her cherished students. It just goes to show how much she values everyone in Lake Mary High School, of which she is an alumna herself.
Way to go to everyone in this performance! Be sure to watch the entire thing by clicking on the link below:
