Saturday Night Live is quick to jump on hot topics and the royal wedding was not off limits. The live sketch comedy closed their 43rd season with a great sketch about the wedding and it was incredible.

Former Saturday Night Live actress, Tina Fey, hosted the season finale. It was her fifth time returning to SNL as a host.

In one of the sketches from the night, the group put together something that was extremely time relevant. They were airing the “after party” from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding!

In the SNL sketch, Prince Harry (Mikey Day) takes the audience through the party like they’re on an episode of an MTV reality show. Veteran Kate McKinnon took on the part of playing Queen Elizabeth II, while Cecily Strong nailed a perfect Kate Middleton impression.

In the skit, she joked about being so drunk because she could finally drink after being pregnant for “six years.” Which is fair, poor Kate has seemed to pregnant (and sick from her pregnancy) quite a bit in the last decade!

The video has over 4.6 million views on YouTube in under 48 hours since it was posted. It also has over 5,000 comments and 48,000 likes.

One commenter wrote on Facebook:

Funny but bride Meghan is missing. Interesting though how they got a few of the exact costumes/hats so quickly and the set is great…very good attempt at recreating the scene! Thanks for sharing…enjoyable as always!

Out of the 5,000 comments, there was a huge mixture of opinions on how the sketch was written.

Another commenter asked the question we’ve all been thinking about Prince William for years:

Can we just talk about what the hell happened to William that he lost all his hair…not just here but in real life too!

As is life, not everyone was a fan of the skit. One YouTube commenter thought the sketch had the right idea, but not all the jokes:

The raw idea is there, the punchlines were missing. Probably should stop using the laugh track to prompt laughter.

The video shot up to #2 on YouTube’s trending list after it garnered so many views and huge engagement. Another standout performance inthe skit was Aidy Bryant as Elton John.

While some fans defended the accents that the actors used:

All the people saying they have Australian accents but if It were an Australian Sketch everyone would be saying this sounds British

What do you think of this sketch? I think the actors they had play Kate Middleton and Prince William were spot on.
