Imagine embodying style, grace, power, and excellence.

This is exactly what you’ll witness in a breathtaking 12-minute roller skating performance.

The story begins with the World Skate, originally known as the Fédération Internationale de Patinage a Roulettes (FIPR), established on April 21, 1924. It was the cornerstone for multinational European roller sports championships.

In June 2017, a significant rebranding occurred.

The FIRS became World Skate, and with it, the World Roller Games were renamed the World Skate Games.

The 2022 edition in Argentina marked the first under this new banner, setting the stage for competitors to make a memorable first impression.

Team Bologna certainly knew how to capture attention.

They began their routine in complete silence, a bold move that piqued everyone’s curiosity.

Then, as the music started, a voice narrated the story of Anne Marie Frank, confirming any suspicions about the theme.

The performance was set to slow, intense music, perfectly complementing the theme and the skaters’ flawless execution.

Their routine included straight line sequences, wheels, blocks, circle step sequences, and even advanced moves in isolation, where skaters performed freestyle moves separately from the group.

One viewer remarked:

“So impressive…and on roller skates, too. At first for about 2 minutes I thought they were ice skating. Well done!” Another added, “What they did here was by no means easy and took a lot of practice, rehearsal and discipline to pull off. I LOVE this performance. Good job!!!”
