Lip Dubs and lip-sync challenges aren’t a new thing, but we still can’t seem to get enough of them! They are hilarious to watch, even when they aren’t done professionally. When ordinary people decide to do them, the production quality may not be as “good,” but they have their own unique charm.
Speaking of “special charm,” this small town decided to get their whole first responder crew in to help with a video!
In Rock County, Wisconsin, the entire first responder crew (police, firefighters, etc.) all got together to do their own version of the hit song Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars. Of all the lip-sync challenge songs, this one is always a fun one!
Even though it’s just a bunch of people having fun, the video did really well!
With over 9 million views, it goes to show that production and tech skills come second to heart and a fun attitude. It was probably such a great experience for all the people that were involved with the project!
When the video starts, we see the thickly clad legs of a firefighter.
Walking in that swaggering firefighter way, the music and “doh, doh’s” of the song start rolling in and we are off! Snapping, clapping, and singing to the beat, the whole town seems to have come out for the performance!
Lining up, the police and fire crew show off what they can do!
The police are in their gear, and the firefighters are in half gear. To dance in any meaningful way means that these guys practice quite a bit! Swinging their hips as they walk forwards, they are getting into the groove of things real good.
With the first chorus drop, the whole crew danced to their routine!
Stepping to the left and right, we see they all showed up ready to dance! During the various camera cuts, we even get a closer look as to who all showed up. It looks like there are over 100 people present, all ready to be a part of the video on their Main street!
“STOP… wait a minute.”
In the famous line from Bruno Mars, he cuts the chorus and moves on to the next verse. In special traffic control fashion, one officer pulls out his whistle, shows his gloved hand, and lines up his motion perfectly with the song!
“Julio, get the stretch!”
One of the funniest parts has to be when they “get the stretch.” Can you guess what it was? A fire truck! Driving the “stretch” down the street, they all dance as the move forward. Their version of “stretch” might even beat Bruno Mars’ version!
For the bridge and end of the song, the whole town joins in.
High schoolers, giant costumes, a trumpeter, and more, all join in for the famous lines of the song! Dancing around and having fun, they really do the energy of the song justice! It had to have been so fun for all of them to come out and film.
