By now, everybody is pretty familiar the dance move we call “the robot.”
Still, it’s more than most people think. Robotic dancing is a form of an illusionary street dance that gained popularity in the 1960s. Many performers still do it and experiment with different moves and ideas. And this couple’s dance with it was definitely a successful experiment.
“Stand by Me” was originally performed in 1961, but there have been over 400 recorded versions of the song.
Many people might be skeptical about pairing this love song to the robotic dance style. Even so, these two young people proved that anything can go together when you use your imagination and put plenty of work into it.
The performance was part of the Urban Dance Camp, which presents a lot of amazing dancers every year.
This event unites dance legends, YouTube stars and top international choreographers. After only a few notes, the recognizable “Stand by Me” starts playing. Right after that, the couple appears.
First, they quickly get comfortable on the stage and smile at each other.
After that, they begin to dance. Their outfits seem comfortable, and they are very relaxed and in a good mood. Before long, the whole room is taken over by their happy energy.
Their meaningful choreography definitely owes some credit to the beautiful lyrics as well.
These two dance in a special way and have some very original moves. The best things about their choreography are its simplicity and meaning. They try to express every line of the song with a movement or facial expression, and they do it perfectly. And the best proof is the crowd of excited people around them, who laugh and clap along after every humorous and original move they make!
In one moment, they hug and look above to go along with the line: “If the sky that we look upon…” The entire time, it’s very visible that the two of them are close, and their dance is subtle and simply entertaining.
This video is very motivational and shows that the younger generation still has plenty of love for the classics.
Even so, the way they interpreted the song in their own way is still so precious.
Whenever they get to a chorus, they do the same funny move. She stops on the stage and he makes a move to be closer to her. She moves one step to the side and he follows because he wants to stand by her. The whole thing is funny and romantic at the same time
The audience clearly gets the funny part and they all laugh. This video brings a happy feeling and it makes you smile a lot. The two of them are good entertainers and the hard work is very visible.

This dance video was published on the Urban Dance Camp’s official YouTube channel and it was viewed more than four million times. The dancing duo is Joseph Tsosh and Alisa Tsitseronova. They are from Estonia, where they give classes of urban style dancing.
The Urban Dance Camp is all about uniting different dancers from Asia, Europe, and America.
It lasts for three weeks and includes more than 77 classes. This idea brings together a lot of talented young people and that’s definitely worth celebrating. We wish this pair the best of luck in future projects.
