Though he’s known for handling crocodiles, caressing rhinos, and photographing wild birds, Robert Irwin is still a young man at the end of the day. You’d be naive to think some girls haven’t noticed.
Robert Irwin recently got asked for his number, and he refused in a very gentlemanly way.

It took place at the Australia zoo – the zoo owned by their mother, Terri. Like his father, Robert is a natural with animals of all kinds. Especially reptiles.
Robert takes a lot after his father, seeing the gentle, beautiful side of crocodiles. He works with many mammals as well, something the Australia Zoo’s got no shortage of.

Most of his days are spent handling the various wild animals in their zoo and entertaining the guests. And it just so happened that some guests found him a bit cute.
A girl visiting from Utah couldn’t help shooting her shot at the 18-year-old.
Megan Grass was sitting on the benches above where Robert was working. Robert can be seen walking by a small lagoon or pool of some sort. We can guess this is for the crocodiles.
As he came near the guests, Megan had her phone out and exclaimed her attraction to the young Australian.
“I think you’re so cute, I was wondering if I could have your number!” – she said to Robert
Robert, of course, couldn’t help but smile. But he wasn’t interested.
He was obviously polite about it.
“Well, I’m very flattered. Umm” he said struggling to find the words. Robert would go on to tell her to DM him on Instagram to ask for his number.
“I’ll tell you what, the easiest way is usually like, on Instagram. Cause then my people can be looking at the monitor and see when it comes through.” – he continued
As Robert was speaking, Megan cut in and said something that really made him laugh a little bit.
“Okay this is sudden but I actually DM’d you last night to tell you I was coming here today!”
Okay, so Megan knows he didn’t check his DMs. Robert realizes his polite little reason isn’t as convincing as he thought.
The guy does have 3.4 million followers on Instagram, Megan. He’s probably got thousands of unread message requests. But Robert, being the modest and kind teenager he is, tells her instead that he just forgot to check.
And after Megan told him that she’d DM’d him the night before, he remains very kind and asks for her name so he can “look it up”.
Of course, he’s not actually going to do that. The size of his account should make that pretty obvious. But that is the point of being modest, isn’t it?
The comments on Megan’s TikTok were pretty quick to notice the polite way Robert turned her down.
Many of them mention how he has his father’s gentleness about him.
“He took the scenic route to “No”, one person said. Another wrote, “he’s just like his dad so sweet and precious”.
There were more too. “He said no in the nicest way”, and “you lost him when you said you were from the US😂😂😂😂”
Over 2.5 million people liked the video of Robert “rejecting” Megan.
It’s not every day you see a man be this chill and sweet when they say “no”. Let alone if it’s Steve Irwin’s son.
That wasn’t the end of it either. Robert would later guest on a talk show where he was asked about it.
Robert tells the host that the encounter truly made his day, and he found Megan very sweet as well. The host, like everyone else, couldn’t help but comment on how sweet the 18-year-old was about it.
“If I saw one of my sons acting the way you did, I would know that I had done my job right as a mom.” – the host told him
At the end of the day, Robert is just happy that his work is reaching people like Megan.

And kudos for the confidence to ask that..and it was great to have that little chat and see people who were really keen on the message I was sending out obviously and listening to what I’m doing. It meant the world. And I was very appreciative.” – said Robert
