Rion Paige finished in fifth place on season 3 of “X Factor USA.” She captivated the hearts of millions of fans and was mentored by Demi Lovato. She has arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, which has caused permanent damage to her arms. As a result, her hands are fixed in a bent position. She is most passionate about country music and was only 13 when she auditioned for the show.
Her audition took place in Charleston, South Carolina.
In the Four Chairs competition, Rion sang Rascal Flatts’ “I Won’t Let Go.”
In her first live show, Rion decided to sing Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper.”
For British Invasion Night, Rion sang “Your Song” by Elton John.
For Divas/Unplugged Night, Rion chose to sing Carrie Underwood’s “See You Again.”
After her Unplugged performance, Rion ended up in the bottom two.
Rion recently moved to Nashville, where she hopes to continue her music career.
She is working on her first album and knows that Nashville is the place that she needs to be right now. She talked about the move, saying:
“I’m so excited to be part of Nashville’s amazing music community. My fans and the music industry have really embraced me, and I can’t wait to share the incredible songs we’ve been working on!”
David Huff is currently producing Rion’s debut album. He has worked with several other bands, such as The Band Perry, Little Big Town, The Doobie Brothers and Lady Antebellum. He has complete faith is Rion and believe that she will be a star someday. He talked about the album, saying:
“We are in the studio right now and I can say with confidence that what you saw on the show only scratched the surface of what a powerful singer she is.”
Rion is definitely confident and ambitious.
She is ready to get on the stage and in the recording studio, where she feels she belongs. Music is her outlet, and it helps her deal with her disease and other obstacles in her life. She said:
“Sometimes, I just get really frustrated whenever I can’t accomplish something that I think I could. So, music helps me to be able to explain my feelings.”
Rion hasn’t let anything hold her back. Her performance on “X Factor USA” only gave her a bigger audience and fan base. She doesn’t plan to let them down and is doing everything she can to become a successful country music star. Hopefully, she can make her dreams come true and will find her way in the music industry.
