Reba McEntire was a college sophomore at Southeastern Oklahoma State University when she performed the “Star Spangled Banner” at the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City. She caught the attention of country artist Red Steagall who brought her to Nashville, Tennessee.

McEntire then signed a contract with Mercury Records later in 1975 then released her first solo album in 1977. Reba released five additional studio albums under the label until 1983.
She is a country singer, songwriter, and actress whose career has spanned more than four decades now.

Reba McEntire was awarded the Artist of a Lifetime in 2019.
Reba’s song “Does he love you” was released in August 1993 as the first single from her compilation album Greatest Hits Volume Two. The thing with country music is it’s always a story being told and this one’s no exception.
Originally recorded by Reba and Linda Davis, the song speaks of a love triangle (which no one ever wants) but it is such a treat to listen to. This live duet features Reba with Kelly Clarkson, who was still an up and coming star around this time.
Reba’s legendary country twang and her trademark eye movements are paired against Kelly’s incredible voice. One that’s pure talent with almost unlimited range.

Reba married manager and guitarist Narvel Blackstock in 1989. She became the stepmother to his three children: Shawna, Chassidy, and Brandon Blackstock. Then years later, in 2013, Brandon and Kelly tied the knot—making Kelly Reba’s daughter-in-law.
Reba and Narvel divorced in 2015. Kelly and Brandon went through a divorce as well, but Kelly and her former mother-in-law remain connected. And we’re glad they still are.
Now this duet was taken back in 2007, way before both women went through their divorces but listening to the song now, it certainly makes one wonder if the lyrics were an omen for what was to come.
