We're guessing you haven't heard this song performed quite like this before!

Everyone knows that pub is great for grabbing a beer and enjoying the night out with your lads.

You’d expect a lot of heavy drinking, smoking and goofing around. What you wouldn’t expect is to see a bunch of football supporters covering a love song.

Well, don’t go away just yet—these hooligans singing “Truly Madly Deeply” sounds a lot better than you might think!

This unexpected performance from 2010 is part of the “HardChorus” campaign organized by Puma.

The company officials stated that “the object was to engage directly with everyday football fans, regardless of team or player preferences.”

The whole thing worked out perfectly—the “HardChorus” campaign doubled weekly store sales and delivered 1.8 million unique visitors to Puma online.

Several countries recorded their entries, but it’s Great Britain’s little pub show that we decided to watch.

British hooligans decided to go all the way in combining football with romance, and the song choice came down to the 1997 hit song “Truly Madly Deeply” by Savage Garden.

It doesn’t come as a huge surprise, since the song was a huge success from the moment it was released.

We love the idea behind Puma’s campaign, especially because so many countries were willing to participate.

Britain’s performance was among the best ones, but a lot more countries deserve to be mentioned. If we wanted to make a list, a few of them we have to include are Italy’s video, but the French fans aren’t far behind either. The German video impressed us, too, and Ukraine even hired Ani Lorak to sing along—check that out here!

Everyone wanted to show off, and we’re happy they did because it resulted in a phenomenal “HardChorus” compilation we’ll remember for a long time.

The British singers were creative enough to take the line “until the sky falls down on me” and to sing it like a challenge.

The whole thing reminds us quite a bit of the movie EuroTrip and Vinny Jones’s performance in it.

Puma started the whole campaign because in 2010, for the first time in 11 years, Valentine’s Day clashed with the day of football (Sunday).

It was an unavoidable opportunity to challenge everyone to present their interpretations of a love for football. Therefore, more than a dozen football fans came together in an English pub, and decided to sing “Truly Madly Deeply.”

Their originality is striking, and we can’t decide whether we like more their unexpressive faces or the fact that they’re making a romantic song sound like some kind of war chanting.

However, we must admit that the rhythm guy was completely into it. Imagine a full concert of hooligans covering the 90’s pop songs. How awesome would that be?

They know all the words, and in their specific way, those fellows are into the song.

The whole pub was blasting with powerful voices, and we’re not surprised that the video got more than five million views on YouTube. Check out the elderly couple sitting on the side—we love how they’re fully enjoying the show! “Let your better half know how you feel” was the slogan of the campaign, and we’re wondering if the grandma and grandpa know how each other feels as the song goes on.

They’re sitting at the table minding their business, but listening to every sound.

As unexpected as it may seem, those two enjoyed the pub version of Savage Garden hit. We would love it if this became a habit because campaigns like this one make people unite and feel loved. That’s what we’ve been all needing a lot lately.
