Since Harry’s birth on September 15, 1985, the world has watched him grow from an adorable little boy into a handsome, respectable man.
Compared to his brother William, Harry always seemed to be the cheekier of the two, often showing off for the camera and gaining a reputation as a party-loving social butterfly in his younger years.
Since his birth, we have witnessed Harry blossom from an adorable, little chap into a humanitarian with a heart of gold. In case you don’t quite remember, here are five of his most adorable moments from childhood.
This week, during the royal wedding, we were lucky enough to see “little” Harry achieve an incredible milestone— marrying the beautiful Megan Markle and stepping onto the path of adulthood and commitment.
But, what does life have in store for Harry, Duke of Sussex? Are there any potential, red-headed babies in his future?
Let’s go back to the beginning. Since the tragic loss of his mother, despite his partying, Harry has always been devoted to his family. He holds a close relationship with The Queen, whom he discusses below. During the same interview, when asked about fatherhood, Harry responded, “I look forward to the moment when it comes.”
Really though, Harry eventually wanting children isn’t such a huge surprise, even for the royal family’s resident “wild child.”
In fact, many believe that it was actually Prince William’s marriage to Kate Middleton that inspired Harry to start settling down. Royal expert Katie Nicholl, author of Harry: Life, Loss, and Love told Entertainment Tonight (obtained via In Style):
“I think the moment [for Harry] really kicked in when his brother, Prince William, of course, settled down with Kate Middleton.”
Here, Harry lovingly teases William about the news of his second child:
Throughout his life, Harry has additionally always had a special relationship with children.
During William’s royal wedding, for example, Harry’s “date” was the adorable Lady Louise of Windsor.
He’s also acted as a resident baseball “Dad” to a children’s baseball team during a visit to the US.
And who can forget the adorable video of Harry sharing his popcorn with a hungry toddler during a random sporting event?
In fact, royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed:
“My sources are saying that Prince Harry, particularly, is very keen to start a family pretty soon after the royal wedding.”
“He’s made no secret about wanting children.”
Harry’s new wife, Megan Markle, has been described as “maternal” and reportedly fell for the Prince when she saw how good he was with kids.
“Megan is very doting with children,” Nicholl confirmed.
“She is very maternal and she was thrilled to meet George and Charlotte… It was actually a moment involving children when Megan really fell for Prince Harry.”
The two had been staying with a friend of Megan’s. The friend and her husband have three children, whom Harry brought a bag of toys. Harry spent a large amount of time playing with the kids— and seeing how well he interacted with them really “sealed the deal” for Markle.
Harry and Megan currently aren’t expecting a child, but they have already announced that they plan to start a family in the “near future”.
