Most people will say that life in high school is fun and wouldn’t you agree with that? There, you commit mistakes, earn friends, and discover talents you don’t know you actually have. Your half-awakened consciousness about everything makes you eager to do new things. It’s the best time for you to figure out what you really like in life and what your interests are.
One of the most exciting parts of being a high school student is joining non-academic activities just like school talent shows and sports events. And when we talk about sports events, people always anticipate half-time shows from a talented group of cheerleaders.
Halftime shows are done to give the players a break from the toe-to-toe battle, it is also one way of entertaining and hyping up an excited crowd. However, this one is not your ordinary group of cheerleaders.
This group of cheerleaders calls themselves, Powderpuff!
“This is without a doubt, the best performance you will ever see! Go for it guys.”
How’s that for an introduction? It sure builds the performers’ confidence and also raises the expectation from the audience a notch higher. Can these guys really pull it off? Let’s all find out the answers.
Let the halftime show begin!
This happened during the student versus staff basketball game at the Carroll High School. They start off with one person making a particular stance in the middle of the gymnasium. Right there, the crowd already goes roaring with their cheers, looks like this group is really something.
When the music’s intro comes in, the first guy rises, then comes the rest of the gang “dead-walking” towards him. And yes, that’s one familiar sound right there, you know these guys are really up to the challenge when they decide to crank things up with a mid-80s classic.
How does Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” sound like for a halftime show?
When they finally assemble, the Powderpuff cheerleaders all bounce to the popular dance moves of the classic song of the one and only “King of Pop”. Turns out that they are performing for one good reason and one good reason alone – they can actually dance!
Soon, the crowd lets out their wild cheers, almost shaking the venue. They sure know they’re up for a treat from this group of senior cheerleaders.
It’s a halftime show you wouldn’t want to end.
They may not be your typical group of cheerleaders but they can definitely pull off an entertaining halftime show. They are even wearing skirts just to be in character, it’s one tough decision to make, and they did it all for the sake of entertainment.
A hilarious dance mix.
They then transition from Michael Jackson to Lady Gaga and the crowd couldn’t help but send an uproar of cheers to the performers. Though the act turns out to be a hilarious one, the Powderpuff cheerleaders are still showing their dance skills. They obviously spent time and effort to come up with their well-choreographed routine.
There’s no doubt why they chose these high schoolers to perform during a halftime show. They definitely did not disappoint! The video has already amassed a racking 3.3 million views with tens of thousands of likes since it got uploaded back in 2009.
Most of the comments admired their bravery in performing in front of a huge crowd while donning some cheerleader outfits.
One commenter wrote:
“Great commitment guys. Most guys would have started laughing and quit.”
While this one can’t thank the Powderpuff enough:
“Guys, I had to watch this again to cheer up so I can get some paperwork done. Your video continues to bring happiness to people’s lives. This will be one of my favorites even when I’m 80. THANK YOU”
It’s an unforgettable experience for these guys and for the school itself. They will surely keep on looking back to this performance even after many years.
Watch the video below, they also danced to Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, and many others!
