More often than not, singers are either soprano or tenor.

Sopranos are usually women with high voices, and tenors are usually men with very low voices.

But Marcelito Pomoy has broken that mold. He is both a soprano AND a tenor.

Marcelito “Mars” Pomoy is a Filipino singer famous for his diverse singing range and winning Pilipinas Got Talent’s second season.

He’s been called the “singer with two voices.”

According to ABS-CBN, Pomoy’s mom abandoned him and his younger sibling as a child. His father put the children up for adoption when he was incarcerated.

Pomroy was adopted by a police officer but had to do odd jobs during his youth in order to get by.

He says he started singing to entertain himself while he was tending to chicken coops.

Pomoy soon learned that he could sing in both a male and female voice and decided to join different amateur and then professional contests, according to Wikipedia.

He didn’t make it in the Talentadong Pinoy competition, but that didn’t stop him.

He tried out for the second season of Pilipinas Got Talent and made it.

During that time he was reunited with his biological family.

Pomoy went on to release his first studio album “Duet Yourself” in 2011, make regular appearances on ASAP, and was on The Ellen Show.

The performance that started it all was his version of “The Prayer.”

The world just went crazy for Pomoy’s version of the song.

“The Prayer” is a song written by David Foster, Carole Bayer Sager, Alberto Testa, and Tony Renis.

The song was originally recorded as two solo versions for the 1998 film Quest for Camelot.

It was recorded in English by Celine Dion and in Italian by Andrea Bocelli.

A duet by the pair was eventually placed on each of their next studio albums.

The song won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and was nominated for both an Academy and Grammy Award.

But the song is a lot different when Pomoy sings it.

That’s because he does both the male and female voices when he sings it.

Pomoy’s range is absolutely incredible.

If you closed your eyes, you would think that it was a woman singing Dion’s part.

And his tenor voice is simply dreamy.

He appeared on the radio station Wish 107.5 and sang the song for them.

A video of that performance was posted on YouTube and shared more than 199,423 times.

“No words can describe how awesome he is. I wanna cry because his female and male voices are that impressive,” said another.

And impressive it certainly is.

I mean, who do you know that can sing like that?

No one comes to my mind.

Pomroy is truly an original.
