The pandemic definitely put a hamper on everyone’s plans but it’s comforting to know that people still find ways to safely be together during special occasions, like Christmastime. Far from being just another holiday, Christmas was definitely one of the highlights of an otherwise bleak and confusing year.

Friends and family celebrated over delicious feasts, caroling, gift-giving, and so much more. While it was somehow frowned upon by others (understandably so, with safety protocols and COVID-19 risks in mind), there were some who insisted on gathering and just sharing in the joy of Christmas together. Those who chose to celebrate quietly, however, could only tolerate the festivities to a certain extent.

In fact, an Escambia County deputy had to step in at some point.

Instead of staying home with his family, the hardworking officer was out, attending to his job. One of his responsibilities that evening was to respond to a noise complaint. When he reached the location, he saw a dance group rehearsing.

It was the ladies of the Pensacola Prancing Pirouettes 3P.

As he began talking to them about the complaint, they continued dancing even as they approached him. It looked like a challenge to a showdown.

And what did the officer do? He gamely stepped in and obliged.

Following them to the dance floor, the good-natured officer began showing off some moves of his own. He was far from awkward, too. The surprised dancers were delighted to realize the police officer was no stranger to dancing himself! They were all eyes, anticipating what steps the deputy would show off next. And let me tell you, none of the dance moves he demonstrated were average.

It was a noise complaint that somehow still highlighted the true spirit of Christmas and humanity.

There was so much joy and kindness in the video, and it caused such a positive ripple on social media, too.

The hardworking yet fun-loving officer proves that not all stereotypes are true, and that unpleasant situations can be handled well. The talented dancing group were so happy about the unexpected turn of events that they probably didn’t realize they made the officer’s night a good one, too. It’s always so refreshing to see people treating each other with compassion and finding the good in every situation, especially during these chaotic times.

Watch the feel-good video and prepare to be impressed by the officer’s slick moves!
