Police officers have one of the most difficult jobs out there, so it goes without saying that they deserve a little bit of fun in their lives. There’s only one thing that’s better than seeing a police department do a hilarious dance challenge, and that’s seeing two police departments team up to do one.
Get ready, this one will seriously have you laughing out loud!

When the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office in CA, teamed up with Yuba City Police Department for the “Git Up Challenge,” even the K9 officers got in on the fun.
Challenges of all sorts have been buzzing all over the internet for quite some time, and after a neighboring county challenged the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office to the “Git Up Challenge” they thought it would be fun to get three other offices in on the action.
The “Git Up Challenge” was created by musician, Blanco Brown, as a dance to his song “The Git Up.” Since then, loads of police departments from around the world have risen to challenge, but none have been quite as funny as this one.

It starts with a funny little skit before police officers from both counties announce that it’s “time for a dance-off.”
That’s when employees from the SCSO, YCPD, Sutter County Courts, and Sutter County Code Enforcement, square off in the parking lot and the real fun begins.

It’s obvious they’ve been practicing this dance, as they all nail all the steps and even have the K9 officer dancing to “The Git Up.”
They flawlessly go through the moves for the “Git Up Challenge,” sliding and dipping their way into becoming viral sensations

The challenge requires them to do an array of different dance moves, and each officer, and every employee, does their part in brilliant fashion. The song is like an instruction manual for doing the dance, and they follow it to a tee.
“Gon’ and do the 2 step then cowboy boogie. Grab your sweetheart and spin out with ’em. Do the hoedown and get into it (whoo, whoo, whoo). Take it to the left now and dip with it. Gon’ throw down, take a sip with it, Now lean back put your hips in it (whoo, whoo, whoo) let’s have some fun,” the first part of the song explains.

They have no problem with the first moves, but will the second part come so easy to them?
With the much harder first part out of the way, the city employees go through the moves to the second part with ease.

“To the left, to the left now (to the left, to the left). To the right to the right (to the right). Now take your left hand and put it on your side (put it on your side). Go on, roll your shoulders (roll your shoulders). Do the slip and slide (do the slip and slide). This next part’s my favorite part ’cause it’s time to shine,” the second part of the dance explains.

The song repeats itself, as they continue to prove that they’ve mastered the funny dance.
They go through the entire song, only getting better as it progresses, and people on the internet noticed. Their performance of the dance challenge has been viewed over 9.6 million times on YouTube, with 80,000 people who’ve also liked it.

Seeing police officers reveal their light-hearted side is always a fabulous sight to see, especially when they get the K9 involved, and have moves like this.
