Doorcam captures pizza man’s hilarious dance break during delivery

November 30th, 2020

Security cameras have become more and more high-tech and it’s fairly common for people to have one on their front porch to foil package thieves.

But occasionally, these cameras catch a funny moment.

Of course, recording people who are unaware is controversial – especially if you share that video – but we imagine that many of the charming moments got a thumbs-up from the stars of the show.

Who’s there?

It has become more and more common for people to ignore their doorbells unless they’re expecting someone.

Now, doorbell cameras (and other motion-activated devices) have given us the ability to see precisely who is there and even converse with them in some cases without having to get up.

While that might sound lazy, it’s simply safer that way, especially for kids and people who are home alone and live in neighborhoods that get foot traffic from strangers.

Just be sure to read up on the privacy implications of the devices first as well as ways to use them responsibly.

Pizza’s here!

In one charming video posted by Ring, a popular doorbell camera maker (and purveyor of other “smart” products), someone caught a cute moment from the local pizza guy.

Of course, ordering a pizza is a sure-fire way to get yourself off the couch to answer the door (at least in the days before no-contact delivery).

Ring got permission to use the video and described the scene on their YouTube channel:

“Kevin uses his Ring Video Doorbell to make sure his family is safe when he has to travel for work. On this night, the kids were getting their favorite food for dinner, and he was able to be part of the excitement… along with their pizza delivery man, Clay.’

Once Clay rings the bell, we hear a dog park and the kids inside chanting “Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!” (Frankly, we have the same reaction when we order in.)

Clay decides to dance along with the chant – after all, he’s about to be a hero.

And we have audio on this clip so we can hear just how excited one kiddo is when they answer the door.

Clay is a perfect gentleman as he drops off the pizzas for the kiddos.

In just a week, the video got over a quarter of a million views on YouTube!

Dancing deliveries

And he isn’t the only dancing deliveryman caught on a security camera.

An Amazon delivery driver in Deleware was thrilled to see a basket of goodies laid out for delivery folks.

He even busted some moves after choosing his reward.

Heck, he’s not even the only Amazon driver to be caught on a Ring camera dancing because of a treat basket! (This makes us rethink our snack-less front porch!)

In Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a driver was equally chuffed to see free snacks. During a long day, it must be nice to see that someone appreciates your efforts.

He did a little jig as well!

One thing that seems clear at this point is that pizza and snacks make everyone happy!

Privacy first

The cameras are not without controversy, of course. You should always ask permission from the person being recorded before posting it online, just out of common courtesy (though Ring seems to encourage the sharing of videos).

As for people doing less adorable things on camera, it’s better to turn the footage over to police before posting clips in the name of vigilante justice.
