A then 18-year-old pizza delivery boy who dazzled his clients with his piano abilities has gone viral.
On a random Wednesday in 2018, Bryce Dudal was delivering a pepperoni pizza from Hungry Howie’s Pizza to the Varchetti family outside of Detroit when he noticed their piano and wanted to take a look at it.
Not the usual pizza guy encounter.
The recent high school graduate was welcomed into the Varchettis’ home to see the baby grand piano, which he subsequently requested permission to play.
The family was gracious enough to let him, but they never expected what was about to happen. When Bryce began playing the piano, they were instantly blown away.
He’s got some real piano skills.
He played Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata.”
It was pretty obvious at this point how much talent he holds and it was later on revealed that he has been playing for about 12 years now. It’s absolutely breathtaking.
It turned out that Bryce was just trying to earn some money during the summer and was delighted to know that a customer had a piano inside their home.
The Varchettis captured the moment.
And the moment they posted the video online, it started gaining endless attention. It appears that it wasn’t only the Varchettis who were impressed by the pizza guy’s talent.
“We were just freaking out. We just couldn’t believe it,” Julie Varchetti shared.
Bryce is mostly self-taught.
“My mom, when I was really young, she got me Beethoven CDs and I used to sit there and listen to them all day,” Bryce recalled. “It’s just the music spoke to me and I really would have loved to be able to play it on the piano and I went the distance and took the time to really—with no teacher—learn it myself.”
Just imagine the amount of dedication to be able to play the piano THAT well without an actual teacher.
He’s got some incredible dedication.
At that time, Bryce was about to begin setting foot in college. The talented young man was on a scholarship and you’d be surprised to know that it’s not because of piano.
He was there because of baseball.
Bryce isn’t only musically inclined but he’s pretty athletic as well.
He also shared that if there’s something common between playing the piano and playing baseball, it’s the fact that both activities require great forearm strength.
“I just wanted somebody to enjoy classical music,” he shared.
And indeed, he successfully made millions of people smile through his incredible talent. Bravo!
And his cherry on top?
The word got around like wildfire until he actually received a call inviting him as a guest on The Ellen Degeneres Show. Isn’t that amazing?
I must say that he deserves it all for the perseverance he’s shown to improve his skills. Kudos to you, Bryce!
