Kids say the darndest things, don’t you think?
When they move past the gibberish of their toddler years, they start yapping and talking, and we don’t think they make any sense.
But once they pick up from their daily observations to the conversations they hear from the adults around them, you can say they make more sense than us.
They spit out words out of the blue, and we’re surprised at their wit.
Kids are a lot smarter than what we give them credit for. So, when children tell a joke, it’s ten times funnier and wittier than most adults could drop a punch line. (Let’s admit it; it’s somehow true.)
Nathan Bockstahler was only six years old when he auditioned for America’s Got Talent, but his wit is a winner.
He may have been the youngest comedian ever to audition for the popular reality talent show.
The little guy walked on stage with much confidence and a beaming smile, and the judges were surprised when he said he would do comedy.
He took center stage and began his act.
Nathan was a ball of fire. He knew just when to drop his jokes at the perfect timing.
Just like when he joked about women saying one thing but meaning another.
And who best to draw an example from? His mom.
“My mom, for instance, always tells me to call her mom, and I then find out that’s not even her real name!”
Nathan’s banter with the judges after saying his skit was even funnier.
Howie Mandel asked him who writes his material, which he instantly corrected “she doesn’t write them; she types them,” and revealed that he was the one who comes up with his jokes and all.
This adorable little guy got four yeses and made it to the next round.
The next round is the live performances which can be nerve-wracking, but not for Nathan.
He was up against older guys, but he didn’t falter.
He walked that stage with so much confidence, knowing he would nail it again.
Of course, he gave a hats-off to their guest judge, One Direction member Louis Tomlinson and the judges thought he was giving off a good impression.
This time, Nathan gives his parents a friendly diss, especially on the lies parents tell their kids.
One notable joke he had was when he talked about how his mom ate something delicious but always said it was spicy.
He dropped his punchline, saying: “Come on, Mom! When have you heard of spicy girl scouts’ cookies?”
One point for Nathan on that!
He got positive feedback from all judges, and Louis Tomlinson even said he was the coolest six-year-old he had ever met.
Simon loved this little guy and said he might have a future in the movies.
Former Spice Girls member judge Melanie Brown advised him to practice more so his skit would flow freely.
