Watch The Piano Guys spice up “Pachelbel’s Canon” with this genius performance called “Rockelbel’s Canon.”

At the beginning of the video, musician Steven Sharp Nelson complains about the cello part in the “Canon in D.” He explains how the piano part is full of many beautiful notes, whereas the cello part is the same eight notes, 28 times over.

Steven then begins playing the Pachelbel piece, only he adds a funny twist. The musician/comedian proceeds to play “Canon in D” while making fun of the song the whole time with comical facial gestures and body language.

The Piano Guys start playing the piece and Steven has the crowd bursting in laughter with his antics.

He makes a humorous face as if to say, “This song really this boring!?” At one point, Steven pretends like he’s falling asleep playing “Canon in D.” He even opens a banana and takes a bite after a moment before throwing it behind him.

After going through the slow song, The Piano Guys decide to add their own unique twist to Pachelbel’s famous piece.

“John, do you mind if we speed this up a little bit? I don’t know, maybe 300 bpm? Let’s rename it too, instead of calling it Pachelbel’s Canon, let’s call it “Rockelbel’s Canon.”

With that, they’re off into a new version of the song that’s much more exciting.

The Piano Guys thrash on their instruments, going as fast as they can while playing the catchy piece. Steven shows that he’s an all-around musician, turning his cello into a drum set.

When Steven starts to use his cello as drums, John breaks out into some amusing dances that have people in attendance roaring with laughter.
