One of the best things about the holidays is getting to listen to Christmas music by our favorite recording artists.

One of the best Christmas music performers in the biz is Pentatonix.

Pentatonix is an a capella group from Arlington, Texas consisting of Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee who replaced original member Avi Kaplan.

Their band was formed in 2011 and they were the winners of the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off, which won them a recording contract with Sony Music. They currently distribute music under Madison Gate Records and have more than 14 million YouTube subscribers.

Their YouTube was also the 50th most subscribed to YouTube channel. Their tribute to Daft Punk received more than 250 million views alone. Pentatonix are known for their stunning pop covers that use pop style arrangments, vocal harmonies, basslines, riffing, percussion and beatboxing.

And the only things they use to achieve their incredible sound is their mouths. Their performance are really stunning to witness.

Pentatonix is also known for their Christmas songs. The three-time Grammy award-winning group has recorded three separate Christmas albums: PTXmas, That’s Christmas To Me, and A Pentatonix Christmas.

They even had their very own NBC Christmas television special “A Very Pentatonix Christmas,” which also featured Jennifer Hudson, Brett Eldredge, Darci Lynne Farmer, and Jay Leno.

Each and every Christmas music video they publish on YouTube gets millions of views on YouTube. Including their video for “Mary, Did You Know?” That video alone received more than 151 million views.

The lyrics to “Mary Did You Know?” was written by Mark Lowry with the music written by Buddy Greene.

The song asks the Virgin Mary and mother of Jesus Christ if she knew that her son would go on to be the savior of mankind.

It was originally sung by Christian recording artist Michael English on his self-titled debut solo album in 1991. It has since become a modern Christmas classic that has been covered by famous artists such and Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd, Cee Lo Green, Reba McEntire, and Clay Aiken.

“I didn’t know actual angels with angelic voices could come down in human form and bless us,” said one commenter on YouTube.
