When you put Paul Simon in that picture, you get an epic video where he performs the hit song “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard” with children around him and creates a great atmosphere.

It’s a great flashback to a different era of music!

Paul Simon is an American singer, songwriter, and actor who gained fame as half of the duo Simon and Garfunkel.

Simon limited his live performances during the 70s, but still, who could resist an adorable party with kids ready to hit the dance floor of 123 Sesame Street? This video was filmed in 1977, and it features Paul Simon and a little girl sitting on the front stoop of Sesame Street with a few more kids dancing around them.

The girl invented her lyrics right after Simon began to play the guitar and he was caught off guard.

Because she gives such an enthusiastic and innovative performance, Simon patiently waits for a spot to cut in and sing the song. Nevertheless, her unexpected part “dance, dance dance, you can dance with me” made the song even more catchy.

As this clip shows, children definitely know how to throw a party!

This famous musician is smitten by these children, all of whom genuinely enjoy the music he’s playing and dance their hearts out.

He is laughing a lot and we can see that this performance made him happy. We can see some kids at the bottom of the stairs dancing like professionals and clapping their little hands with joy. A kid cannot fake happiness, so if a child is entertained, it means you’re doing your job well!

One funny moment in the video is that the girl sitting next to Simon is eager to start singing again.

She waits for Simon to finish the words, but as soon as he gets to the whistling part, she starts singing again. It’s incredibly cute and spontaneous. At the end of the song, she completely takes the spotlight and gets into the melody. She’s sincerely enjoying her five minutes of stardom.

These old videos have a lot of charm.

There is something delightful about these old videos and the way children had fun during a different era.

The 70s were the years when TV dominated culture, and there were plenty of memorable moments from that era. That’s the appeal of a video like this—it takes you for a nice time-travel and brings you back happy and relaxed. A true bonus is this girl who can’t contain herself from singing along this hit and doing it her way!

No one exactly has any more information about the little angel who sings with Simon.

This video was uploaded in 2008 and it got more than five million views.

Still, there is no information about the enthusiastic girl who sang with Simon. He returned to the Sesame Street 10 years later, but sadly without his singing partner from 1977. We know that the girl is a grown-up woman now and wherever she is, we hope that she’s doing well. Somehow, we can imagine her being all happy and cheerful, saying everyone around her to just “dance, dance, dance.”
