Spontaneous performances in public places have become very popular and even famous people often do them.
Sometimes they happen before a person has made a name for themselves, and sometimes they happen after. As it turns out, it even happened with Paul Potts, an English tenor who rose to fame thanks to Britain’s Got Talent. He won the first series of the show and it skyrocketed his career.
This is a video of Potts’ surprise performance at the biggest shopping center in Germany. He decided to give his German audience this kind of surprise to promote his tour around Germany and the release of his new album. The video went viral and people loved it.
As soon as he walked in the mall, people started recognizing him!
The video begins with a few shots of people around the mall when suddenly Potts walks in.
People immediately began recognizing him and you can see them whispering with excitement and taking out their phones to record everything. Then we can see that there is a microphone in the middle of a mall’s coffee shop in front of a beautiful fountain where Paul starts his performance. In the blink of an eye, a huge crowd gathers around him and everyone seems to listen to him with a lot of respect.
We assume that most people wouldn’t expect opera to be this popular, but the entire shopping center stood still and listened with admiration. His powerful voice resonated through the entire space and it was the best promotion he could have possibly done.
His voice transcends generations!
The most beautiful part of it all is that everyone, young and old, left everything that they were doing and came closer to see and hear Potts.
As the camera shows people during his performance, all of them are relaxed and emotional. When Potts starts signing, everyone came together, from old people to even babies. Their faces lit up and it doesn’t get much better than that!
When his performance ended, a lady in the background smiles and lets out one emotional ‘wow’ in the background. It’s not the first time something like this happened. Every time this talented man performed during Britain’s Got Talent, everyone in the audience was completely in awe.
You have to like opera when you hear Potts sing it!
A lot of people commented that they enjoyed this video, even though they didn’t like opera.
Potts is known to be very humble and down to earth. He is on the same level as his audience, which can be seen in all of his performances. Although blessed with enormous talent, Potts delivers opera performances in a relaxing and peaceful way. That is why his performances are so appealing. Some people in the audience were brought to tears by his singing, which speaks for itself!
As it turns out, this man’s life was even adapted into a movie!

Potts is originally from Bristol and he was a mobile phone salesman, before finding fame in 2007. Since he’s been performing, but it is not known whether he will release more albums or not. Even so, we can say that his version of “Nessun Dorma” will always be remembered and we hope he finds further success.
