The Pack Drumline has gracing the stage all over the US.
Now, they’re announcing their presence to the world AGAIN through America’s Got Talent: The Fantasy League!
The Pack Drumline isn’t new to the stage. They are, after all, the Official Drumline for Chicago Sky of the WNBA. They have also performed for different big corporations, including McDonald’s, Activision, Red Bull, Coca-Cola, and Northwestern Mutual, among many others.
In this latest season, the judges, Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Mel B have handpicked ten returning acts, who will compete against each other to win the title. Plus the Golden Buzzer has gained a “twist.” The judges can press the Golden Buzzer for an act in their team or to steal an act from another team. It’s anyone’s ball game now!
The Pack Drumline members are from Chicago, Illinois, and the group was formed in 2014 as an after-school program for at-risk youths.
Ten years later, they are stronger than ever and have been inspiring so many people to go for their dreams.
Gracing the AGT stage a second time, they are excited to make a difference once again.
“When we first came on this show, we were just a bunch of kids from Chicago, looking for an opportunity,” The Pack Drumline said. “Now, after a year…of performing all over the world, we know one thing, we come into this competition to win.”
Simon Cowell raised his fist in the air with excitement.
Then it was time to perform.
They started with a deafening silence before they pounded the first notes of Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” The stage was then filled with the numerous members of the drumline.
The great thing about their performance is that they combine it with acrobatics, dance exhibitions, and pure energy.
That energy is so important because it’s going to entice the audience to participate.
You know what? They did!
The audience was clapping their hands and stomping their feet in unison, and matching their energy. At the same time, The Pack Drumline fed us off this energy to deliver a powerful audition.
It’s funny how much of their energy was spent on just the audition but auditions can make or break a group, right? If they don’t give the same energy (or more) in the audition, then how can we expect them to give the same amount (or more) of energy to the performances?
That’s why The Pack Drumline brought their A-game and gave their all!
Not only did they perform the Queen’s iconic song but they mashed it up with Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble.”
It was a great mash-up choice because it gave them time to breathe in between the high-energy-filled parts!
Just when you thought it was over, it wasn’t.
They’re like the Energizer Bunny, they keep going and going and going! At the end of their performance, they received a standing ovation from all the judges and the entire audience.
“That is a Super Bowl moment right there,” Howie Mandel said. “That is better than anything you have done before the GT (Got Talent) stage. You are, in my mind, the one to beat.”
Mel B added that she was annoyed with the performance.
“Because you’re on Simon’s dream team and you just killed it!” Mel B. exclaimed.
Of course, Simon had to have the final say.
“There are occasions, you know, with an artist, where you look into their eyes and you see steel,” Simon shared. “That, to me, is a sign of a fighter and a star. There are other artists, who are a favorite to win, but I think you are going to surprise everyone and win this whole show.”
