Kaleidoscope Orchestra plays innovative tribute to late musician and his electronic group
These songs were never designed to be played by an orchestra, but they all sound amazing!

Music is one of the best ways for humans to connect.

It brings folks together from all walks of life. This talented orchestra made a tribute to Keith Flint, lead singer of the popular band The Prodigy, when he sadly passed away in 2019 at 49 years old.

The sound this orchestra produces is simply amazing!

When The Prodigy’s lead singer died, the Kaleidoscope Orchestra played a mash-up of their music in a touching tribute that went viral.

Anyone who grew up in the 90s has most likely heard songs by The Prodigy at some point. The band was insanely popular for hits like “Firestarter” and “Breathe,” both of which were released in 1996. In March of 2019, Prodigy’s lead singer Keith Flint tragically took his own life, leaving fans worldwide deeply saddened.

In this video, the Kaleidoscope Orchestra plays a moving tribute that touched people all around the world.

They picked six of the band’s most popular songs, starting with “Out Of Space.”

They played “Out Of Space” for the first 1:42 of the video before moving on to “Omen.”

Hearing this band’s electronic dance music played with so many instruments is outstanding! It’s always amazing to see how in sync an orchestra has to be with one another in order to create such masterpieces.

After playing “Omen” for over a minute, the orchestra switches to a spectacular version of “Spitfire” and the transition between songs is phenomenal.

The massive orchestra doesn’t skip a beat as they go from song to song.

The Kaleidoscope Orchestra has over 30 members playing in the Prodigy mash-up.

They move from “Spitfire” to “No Good (Start the Dance),” with the camera switching back and forth from musician to musician. There’s a total of 13 different types of instruments contributing to the breathtaking tribute, and conductor Steve Pycroft does a beautiful job of guiding them through the complex set.

With four of the six Prodigy songs down, Kaleidoscope moves on to “Breathe” and continues to deliver a magical version of the famous song.

Every single rendition the gifted group of musicians plays is remarkable, down to the final song.

For the grand finale, the Kaleidoscope Orchestra plays Prodigy’s most famous song, “Firestarter.”

The violinists and cellists play an elegant part of “Firestarter” with the drums lightly lapping in the back round before the conductor brings it all to an end. Their whole performance was packed with so much emotion in the music, and every member of the orchestra played their part flawlessly.

This isn’t the first incredible cover the Kaleidoscope Orchestra has done.

As it turns out, they post other brilliant renditions on their YouTube channel as well—and many of them go viral. The “Tribute to Keith Flint” video spread like wildfire on the internet, reaching people from all around the world.

Since it was posted, it has been viewed over two million times, with 110,000 liking it and thousands leaving comments.

It’s always incredibly sad to see talented people take their own lives.

Too many great artists have gone down that path. In any case, it’s always beautiful to see other musicians do a tribute to the impact of someone they were inspired by.
