Police officers have a reputation for being intimidating. Anyone who’s ever listened to the rap group NWA’s most popular song will know that sometimes the public image of the police can be a bit less than “friendly”.
However this, it would appear, isn’t a completely accurate image of Police Officers.
When you say “fun police”, it may evoke a certain type of character.
We all know one, someone all too ready to jump in and ruin everyone’s fun. No running! Don’t yell indoors! Don’t roll your brother down the stairs!…that just me?
But what if “fun police” just means “police who are fun”?
Introducing two of the most fun police officers around!
Two Australian cops who, in the words of Cyndi Lauper “just want to have fun”. These two uniformed officers take the time on their rounds to bring a little extra joy to the world with a fantastic lip sync. These are two coppers who lip sync like they’re gunning for the top spot on RuPaul’s Drag race.
And the song they choose is, let’s just say, pretty well known.
A little bit of JT anyone? Justine Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” is a feel good, high energy pop song from the movie Trolls. Timberlake may have voiced the character named Branch, but this song has taken on a life of its own since its release. So much so, that even a pair of police officers from down under were compelled to do their own rendition which lives on to this day.
The video kicks in with the first officer to…sync her lips?
Since the identity of these officers are somewhat of an enigma, we’ll refer to her as Ms. Officer. And we’ll just say that Ms. Officer has some real talent when it comes to lip syncing. She starts off by casually chatting into her radio, acting like she isn’t about to bring the house down with a performance to make JT himself jealous.
After a few captivating lines from Ms. Officer, it’s time to hand over the baton.
And who better to grab it but Mr. Officer? Straight in with the charisma and uniqueness to complement her nerve and talent is Mr. Officer! He brings the show too, taking over the second verse after Ms. Officer laid down the red carpet of fun.
You may wonder how they do this awesome lip sync without laughing.
And well, the truth is, they don’t! A few verses in, Ms. O can’t take any more of the fun and she inevitably cracks. To be fair, if I were in that position, I too would struggle to keep a straight face.
Even Mr. O has to pay homage to the hilarity of the situation.
He melodramatically wipes a tear from his eye, and theatrically holds it up. You know, for a pair of serious officers, they sure do know how to have fun. So long as Mr. O is keeping his eyes on the road, I don’t mind the joviality.
Watch the video below to enjoy this charming duo’s way of turning feel-good to feel-better!
