Ever wondered what firefighters do in their downtime? They don’t just sit around drinking cups of coffee, you know – they know how to play just as hard as they work.
The Greenville Fire Department proved that to the world when they took on the Lip Sync Challenge… and it’s our new favorite video.
Theirs is a lip-sync like no other, with professional filming and choreography that you need to see for yourself!
Lip-sync challenges, in our opinion, are one of the best things to come out of the internet.
Yes, the online space is incredibly important for educational purposes, but some of the content that makes it onto our phone screens can be pretty depressing.
Stumbling across a lip-sync challenge gives you an excuse to enjoy 5 minutes of humor – a guaranteed mood-booster.
This particular lip-sync challenge has seen first-responders around the country putting down their work for a bit of well-deserved fun. Song choice and recording was all down to them.
Naturally, this resulted in a bit of healthy competition amongst cops and firefighters, who figured that if they were going to get involved in this challenge, they had to do it properly.
Enter: Greenville Fire Department.
These men and women were keen to make the most memorable lip-sync of them all, choosing not one, but several of the most popular tracks to mime along to.
The video opens with Flo Rida’s “My House’ – so, naturally, the scene we’re first greeted with is the fire station itself.
A firefighter mimes along to the hit as he walks through the station. It’s good, but we have no idea what’s yet to come…
And then it happens: the camera moves into the fire department’s gym. We’re met with a scene of topless men working out on treadmills, lifting weights, and generally just smiling and posing at the camera. We’re not complaining.
As if the heat wasn’t already high enough, the camera then cuts to an outdoor shot, where a Greenville Fire-Rescue truck pulls up and a bunch of firefighters hop out.
And the lip-sync song of choice? It just had to be LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It”.
The firefighters, who are wearing department vests with no shirts underneath, dance and “wiggle” along to the beat. Oh, and they’re also being sprayed with water the entire time.
Thankfully, things get a bit easier to handle in the next scene, where firefighters in a burned-down building are digging with tools while lip-syncing to the song, “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins.
To end things on a patriotic note, the last song is “Pink Houses” by John Mellencamp.
The firefighters are dressed in full uniform, this time, and mime along to the tune with our nation’s flag hanging in the background.
Currently, the video of the firefighters in action, so to speak, has been watched over a million times.
It’s clear that the main reason for the video’s popularity is the “sizzling” topless scene, and people in the comments weren’t afraid to voice their own appreciation of the clip. One woman wrote:
“Omg!!! HOT!! I think I need a shot of that hose now! EXCELLENT JOB guys!! Thanks for keeping us safe and keeping us entertained!!! 😂”
