Of all the musicals, Phantom of the Opera may be one of the most famous, if not THE most famous.

People just seem to know about it, even if they don’t know a single thing about it.

Well, with videos like this one, it’s no wonder why it’s so famous, even today.

Nicole Scherzinger was famous long before she ever sang The Phantom of the Opera, but we still think it deserves attention!

Originally written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the 1986 version of The Phantom of the Opera is really, really good.

“Since it launched in October 1986, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera has won countless awards, including seven Tonys and three Oliviers, and is the longest running Broadway show in history.”

Scherzinger sang the theme song for the musical with a few others and let’s just say it REALLY blew up.

When the 25th anniversary of the musical came around, there was a celebration where Scherzinger and a few others sang the theme song.

It is truly amazing.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations in 2011, Nicole Scherzinger, lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls, sang its theme song during a performance at the annual Royal Variety Performance in Manchester. Accompanied onstage by four of the most acclaimed “Phantoms” – Simon Bowman, Earl Carpenter, Ramin Karimloo and John Owen-Jones – she left the audience and online viewers alike stunned with the power and range of a voice many had simply relegated to pop tunes.

As she sings, the musical backing really adds to the haunting feeling you get live.

Although we don’t know what kind of training Scherzinger has had, it’s clear she was prepared for the role.

Her low and sultry voice is unique, even among the men who seem to almost be singing higher than she is.

There are breakdowns where you really get a chance to feel the emotion that the event must have inspired, even through a screen!

As they near the end, Scherzinger kicks it into a different gear.

Her low, sultry voice turns into a ringing bell as she gets higher and higher, pushing her own body and giving everyone watching chills.

As she cuts off her final note, the crowd erupts in cheers and the five singers take a much-deserved bow.

Since its upload, it’s garnered over 28 million views.
