After the vows are exchanged and the rings slipped on fingers, the newlyweds are ready to party.
Family and friends wipe away happy tears as the celebration of love now moves to the reception venue where they get to celebrate with food and drinks.
There will be singing and dancing!
The newlyweds will have their first dance, and depending on where you’re from, it could either be cultural, traditional, or just really epic like these two.
It’s a day to remember so why not make it special?
They’ve got the skills for it so the new husband and wife took a page out of “Dirty Dancing” and showed everyone how awesome a wedding can be.
Yup, the same 1987 film featuring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
The same film with that epic dance scene in the end that so many people, both young and old, have grown to love.
But don’t be fooled by the cuteness of the film or the dance, because it is not easy to pull off!
The bride’s name is Edina, and according to the description (as translated), she really wanted to do this dance for her wedding.
No name is given for her partner but the guy would have made Patrick Swayze proud!
Edina got to be Frances “Baby” Houseman for the night, as “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” plays over the speakers.
It’s pretty much the same dance so fans of the 1987 film can easily follow the steps.
Can you dance?
A classic is reborn thanks to this wonderful couple!
Even a skeptical viewer was proven wrong, saying,
“Gotta be honest when I say that I almost passed this up as I thought it was just going to be a dud. But I’m sooo glad that I stopped and watched because I wasn’t expecting what I saw, which was just a phenomenal performance and I sure wish I was at that wedding!
I’ve been a fan of Dirty Dancing for so many years and I can tell you that I believe that Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey would be Proud of you both!”
Time to watch Dirty Dancing again!
And if you’re wondering, yes, Edina and her partner pulled off that incredible move where she jumps up and the guy holds her in mid-air.
That takes a lot of practice!
Swayze was a real dancer, that’s why the film worked.
Jennifer Grey was initially not happy being cast with Swayze, as she and the actor had difficulty getting along on their previous movie Red Dawn, but when they did their dancing screen test, the chemistry between them was too strong.
Chemistry gave birth to a classic.
But for Edina and her husband, it’s a lifetime of dancing together.
A lifetime of lifting each other up and guiding each other when one loses their direction.
Such is the dance of married life, and it plays beautiful music when the dancers work together.
