The first dance between groom and bride is always an emotional and very special moment for the newlyweds, but this couple decided to things slightly differently than you might expect.
Instead of going for a slow dance, these two decided they would throw a whole set list of popular hip-hop songs into the mix along with corresponding dance moves. They even involved their friends in the routine, and it truly makes for an amazing first dance video.
Songs such as the hip-hop classic “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix A Lot, “Bootylicious” performed by Beyoncé and “Crank That” from Soulja Boy can be heard in the dance that lasts just a little bit over six minutes. Popular songs from Justin Timberlake, Jay Z and Kanye West also make an appearance.
We promise you that you’ve never seen the first dance like this before, and even though the couple and their friends aren’t the best of dancers, they’re clearly having a lot of fun.
The happy couple David and Hollie Smith got married in Spain. They filmed their first dance video and published it to YouTube, where it quickly went viral with over eight million views and counting.
Conveniently, the fiancée of David’s best man has a career as a professional dancer, so they decided to choreograph something special and make memories that will last a lifetime.
“It was my idea,” Hollie said to the Leicester Mercury. “I just wanted to do something different and something a little more fun.”
“I think our ushers and bridesmaids thought we were joking, to begin with.”
To make it even more special, David, Hollie and their friends didn’t rehearse their performance together and decided to just perform it all for the first time on their important day.
“I choreographed a lot of it with the help of Dave’s best man’s fiancée who is a professional dancer,” Hollie said.
“It was the first time we’d all performed together on the night. It was nerve-wracking, but I think we pulled it off.”
The two got married on July 29th, 2015. David and Hollie would never have imagined their video to go viral and are absolutely blown away by the positive reactions they received.
“I never in a million years thought it would get this far,” Hollie concludes.
“The feedback we’ve received has been really positive and if it helps bring a smile to people’s faces then it’s well worth it.”
