Nathan and his dance teacher Joanne were invited by judge Alesha Dixon to perform on Britain’s Got Talent.
Nathan is a brilliant ballroom dancer with Down’s Syndrome, and together with Joanne, they set out to delight fans and viewers with a “cheeky” cha-cha-cha.
He goes on to announce that he is doing the cha-cha-cha “for Bruno” to which the new judge says: “Oh for me my darling?”
The young man cheekily replied, “For you, my darling!”
It was actually his dance teacher Joanne who nominated him for an audition, which led to Alesha surprising Nathan in the middle of dance class.
Nathan’s mom said, “Children similar to Nathan are given the impression they’re incapable and our son proves otherwise.”
And that he does.
The audience clapped along and the judges smiled as an ecstatic Nathan danced and pointed at the four judges while shimmying across the stage in his sequins.
He really can does and does so wonderfully.
When the dancers finished, the audience and the judges rose to their feet, applauding the pair.
An enthusiastic Bruno said to an emotional Nathan, “It was a cheeky, sizzling, joyous cha cha cha. You were working it, keep at it.”
Amanda Holden said she was proud of Nathan and even complimented his footwork, because he was really fantastic!
Simon Cowell then added, “We do get good dancers who are very boring on this show. But both of you have got such amazing personalities. You were brilliant. Everything about this audition I love.”
He has a point, and Mr. Cowell is right!
Dancing isn’t easy and not everyone can do it, but Nathan, despite his condition chooses to attend classes and even went ahead and performed for us.
The viewers are loving it, with one saying,
“May I ask for a special applause for this amazing woman named Joanne who just made my heart smile with her wonderful attitude towards this sweetheart young man. People can glow and grow in their full capacity thanks to people like her, a person who does not judge but encourages, who does not see limits but creates possibilities.”
Nathan has a friend who left a comment too!
“Proud to say that I know this young man I’ve helped him through being bullied online I can’t be any prouder then him and I didn’t even know he was going on there brought a tear to my eye unbelievably proud of you Nathan well done.”
That’s just really good to know, isn’t it?
