Music is powerful in such a way that it can change someone’s life or perspective in life. It brings joy to the lonely, a form of relaxation to the weary, and encouragement to the one who almost wanted to give up. It can even potentially turn somebody’s day around.

He was amazing and his talent for music certainly shows in every line he sung. His disability was not a hindrance at all, and if anything, his blindness only made the song even more meaningful.

The song in itself is a source of inspiration. John Newton, the poet who wrote its words, was once an enslaver who later on converted to Christianity after receiving a miracle while he was at sea.

“Amazing Grace” is a beautiful reminder about hope and deliverance, one that we certainly need these troubled days.
