Christmas could be different this year after everything that’s happened. We’re looking at you Covid-19. But the true meaning of Christmas is inside of us. It is the warmth and love we have, the joy and the peace we carry inside.
The song “Where are you, Christmas?” does speak volumes for every person out there. It hasn’t been easy but we need to be the bearers of light.
Christmas is ours.
The song was recorded by Faith Hill. It was originally meant to be a Mariah Carey original but legal issues with her husband kept her from releasing her recording. It’s a very touching ballad.
And it is not an easy song to sing. Faith Hill is one amazing singer and she reaches notes that are not for the faint of heart.
Enter Jordan Rabjohn and Katherine Hallam. This mother and son duo has taken the internet by storm, stunning people with their vocal skills and fantastic duets. Plus, it’s so cute seeing a mom and her son perform together.
Jordan’s got that pop style while Katherine goes with a power diva style.
“Where are you Christmas
Why can’t I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can’t I hear music play “
Katherine’s got that surprising power and tone to her voice. She’s a stunner.
Perfect for this power ballad.
It’s a song that requires the singer to unleash all parts of his or her vocal prowess. And neither Jordan or Katherine shy away from the challenge. It may be a sad ballad, but the mother and son duo take turns showing the world what awesome talents they are.
Susan Whitaker commented,
“I love this!! The two of you blend so beautifully and each have strong, gorgeous voices. Please do more!”
Oh they have lots more. All you have to do is subscribe and follow.
The song was written by James Horner and Will Jennings for the 2000 film, How the Grinch stole Christmas. Even Faith Hill’s music video follows the movie’s theme. Go check out the film and listen to the song.
There have been other renditions. In 2008, Kaitlyn Maher sang live at the White House during the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Hollie Steel, child soprano from Britain’s Got Talent, covered the song in 2009. And Then There Were None released their version in the same year.
The Piano Guys released their cover in December of 2009 during a concert and in 2018, a cappella group Pentatonix released their version.
All great covers but Jordan and Katherine smashed it!
It’s so full of raw talent. The difference in their styles of singing add to the song’s character and when they sing together, the blending is just so delightful to the ears.
Another viewer said,
