America’s Got Talent is a hugely popular TV show with tons of famous stars to come out of it.

Many people also know about Britain’s Got Talent as well, but did you know that there are actually over 70 different “Got Talent” shows across the world?

One mother and son team who auditioned on Ireland’s Got Talent gave a very moving performance that wouldn’t have been possible only 2 short months before.

In early September, 19-year-old Brandon Webb went out partying with friends and, while he was out, decided to partake in some illicit substances.

Brandon reacted badly to whatever it was that he took and the young man ended up severely ill and on life support in the hospital.

His mother, Sharon, was called and informed what had happened and that she needed to start preparing for the worst.

During the 2 days that Brandon was stuck in a coma, he suffered over 50 seizures and doctors did not know if he would wake up, or what he’d be like if he did.

For 2 days, Sharon held his hand and sang to him, encouraged that he would sometimes squeeze her hand back.

Finally, and like nothing had even happened, Brandon woke up and started asking for his favorite meal of taco fries saying that he was starving.

Brandon had recovered through the next few weeks and, when only 2 months later, the Ireland’s Got Talent crew came through their town of Kildare, the pair decided to audition together.

Clearly full of nerves when they walked on stage, the mother and son briefly explained their circumstances to the judges.

When asked how long they had been singing together, the two smiled at each other and said they started as soon as Brandon had learned to talk as a child.

As soon as the duo started singing Calum Scott’s “You are the Reason” the whole building had started reaching for their handkerchiefs.

Individually, both mother and son have very beautiful voices, but when they sang their harmonies together, magic happened.

The pair’s voices complimented each other perfectly, neither one outshining the other.

At the end of their song, both audience and judges rewarded the two with a rousing standing ovation.

And very quickly, before any of the other judges could do it, the shows host, Lucy Kennedy, walked to the judges’ podium and hit the coveted Golden Buzzer.

It’s a moment neither of them will ever forget.

As the audience erupted again, and the golden confetti rained down from the ceiling, the mother and son embraced in a very emotional hug.

When asked how she was feeling, Sharon said,

“Today meant so much to me, I thought I’d never sing with Brandon again. And just to be on this stage, I was a winner.”

When Lucy asked Brandon how he was doing, he wiped a few loose tears from his face and relayed his gratitude.

“Thank you so much,” he said, “I’m lucky I’ve had a second opportunity at life, and to be on this stage with my mom, it’s amazing.”

Their audition is so emotional that on top of earning the Golden Buzzer, it’s raked in millions of views online.
