A very sweet mother named Claire Connolly stunned the audience and the four judges of Britain’s Got Talent when she took to the stage to tell them that she was giving her audition spot to her teenage daughter Tia.

In between tears, Claire says “She thinks it’s me who’s auditioning.”

She further explained to the judges that “She’s got me through some very hard times in my life and I feel like I owe her, so I’m giving my audition up for my daughter.”

“This is my way of saying she’s fabulous because she deserves it and she’s an incredible person.”

Even Simon Cowell had to confirm what he just heard.

So Tia, stunned behind the curtains, entered the stage with her mother.

The judges then allowed her to take some time in the back to gather herself.

The 15-year-old soon returned with a brilliant rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.”

Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and new judge Bruno Tonioli were listening intently, trying to get a feel of Tia’s voice.

The teenager was a bit shaky at first but when she hit her stride, Tia soon showed everyone why she was willing to sing.

Even viewers knew Tia was special.

“What I like about this performance is that her voice is not the normal usual singing voice ….so well rounded …..mature ….sounds like a professional.” says one.

Another commented,

“A beautiful performance, Tia’s voice is so mature,no forced, fancy rifts it came from her soul.Such an unassuming young lady with a wonderful future ahead of her.”

She definitely does!

And when asked why she chose that song, Tia says it meant a lot to her since she was bullied a lot.

She also dedicates it to her mom, the strongest person she knows.

Amanda Holden said the teenager “absolutely smashed it” and has a “massive career” ahead of her.

Bruno Tonioli said Tia had “incredible quality because you were singing from your soul”.

Simon Cowell commented, “That’s how you do it.”

The famous judge added: “I really love moments like this, you didn’t know you were going to audition, your mum set you up, I’ll just sing Whitney Houston then, like it’s normal. That’s very sweet what you did for your daughter because I’m guessing without you doing that she wouldn’t have auditioned. I absolutely loved this audition.”

Other teenagers would have panicked and ran out at the thought of an impromptu audition on a popular show.

But not young Tia, who had the strength in her to do so despite life’s cruel twists.

Imagine what a little training could do for this teenager who now has a bright future ahead of her.

And it all worked out in the end!
