Dancing is such a beautiful art form that allows many creative ways of self-expression. With so many different dance types, it’s always a delight to witness talented acts showcasing what they can do with the right music and graceful movements.

Dancers have a way of really setting things off, too.

They can add life to the simplest of places with their talent and energy, whether it be a large stage with an eye-catching backdrop, a platform on the beach, or a sidewalk.

If you notice, it’s the truly passionate ones that have a way of making it all look so natural: the gliding, the twirling, the footwork, everything. No stiffness whatsoever, just fluid, captivating movements that take the audience away.

You might remember the song from the 1940s Disney classic “Pinocchio.” Sung by a character named Jiminy Cricket, the song sends a positive message about dreaming and hoping. It has become such a well-loved track even by non Disney fans that countless versions of it have surfaced: lullabies, jazz standards, instrumentals, and so forth.

It also happens to be the perfect song to dance to.

The pop version sung by Ashley Gearing was this mother-daughter duo’s chosen audio backdrop. You’d think this particular version to be a somewhat curious song choice for two ballerinas (seeing as how ballet is typically associated with classical music) but unsurprisingly, the two lovely ladies made it work with their lyrical dance expertise.

Dressed in matching blue and white dresses and sporting simple ponytails that showed off their striking facial features, the duo glided and pirouetted across the stage gracefully, smiles on their faces the whole time. Watch out for the jumps, lifting, and impressive display of flexibility and poise.

There is no denying that lyrical ballet is as intricate as it is beautiful.

The sight of lithe dancers bounding and leaping about, light on their feet, is nothing short of mesmerizing. Add to that the music, the costumes, and the acting that comes with it. The theatrical dance holds so much artistry that it inspired many different dance forms. You’ll notice quite a number of traditional ballet steps incorporated into tap, jazz, contemporary, and freestyle dancing.

This is the beauty of dancing. It is meant to be shared.

A solo dancer shares his passion with an admiring audience. Those who dance in pairs share ideas, friendship, love, and passion with each other. Dance teams of three or more share the same things, too.
