7-year-old Emilie really loves her dog Sharky.

Dog lovers will relate to this video for sure. There’s nothing on this planet quite like the love and companionship of dog.

Some of us spoil and pamper our pets, some cuddle with them, some sing.

Emilie is a talented pianist at her age though, hence her choice of serenading her cute dog.

And it’s a song that has endured the test of time too.

No sheet music here, just emotions, especially love.

“Moon River” was originally performed by the late great actress Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

The song was composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics written by Johnny Mercer, and really was intended for Hepburn to sing in the classic film.

Mercer’s lyrics are reminiscent of his childhood in Savannah, Georgia. He picked huckleberries as a child during the summers.

Something which he connected with a carefree childhood and Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn.

There’s no shortage of talent and creativity in this story.

So little Emilie, at the young age of seven, plays on piano. She could have chosen a nursery rhyme or a current hit of the times but she chose an old song.

She’s got taste, and even Sharky knows it.

It’s a song that won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and two Grammys, for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, after all.

Sharky knows a masterpiece when it’s played!

Holly Golightly’s spirit was in that room when this talented little lady hit those lovely notes.

In fact it’s such an adorable moment, a viewer had this to say,

“Amazing – first the girl is talented FAR beyond her years and secondly, nobody would let a dog on top of their fancy piano unless it was truly loved and an important part of the family. WOW!”

As all dogs should be.

Emilie really is impressive, hitting each note perfectly.

The melody will have you closing your eyes, wishing her playing won’t stop.

To think the iconic scene of Hepburn singing almost never even made it into the movie.

The screenplay was too long, which had the head of Paramount Pictures suggesting to cut the scene famously set on the fire escape outside of Golightly’s New York City apartment.

“Moon River” almost never became famous.

They say it was Audrey Hepburn who put her foot down, saying the scene and the song should stay in the final cut.

That’s why Emilie, at seven, knows the song by heart here.

It’s amazing what strong, talented women can do.

Sharky is such a good boy, listening patiently and not even moving around on that piano.

Who knew that dog’s could appreciate such fine music?

He knows that his little hooman is talented, and as for us, we can’t wait to see what Emilie will be like in a decade or so.

Keep playing those classics, Emilie!
