Music can lighten any mood.
It never hurts to have a jam-session no matter what the situation is. This band gets stopped in a traffic jam, so they hop out of their car and put on an awesome show for everyone that’s stuck.

The best part is one band member plays his saxophone with a traffic cone sticking out of it and it actually sounds really good!

Moon Hooch is an American band that consists of saxophonists Michael Wilbur and Wenzi McGowen. Percussion drummer Ethan Snyder recently joined them on tour after James Muschler’s left the band in 2019.

The talented band that originated in Brooklyn, New York played a surprise performance for a highway full of agitated drivers who are in stop-and-go traffic.
At the beginning of the video, the saxophonist with the cone plays from the roof of their van as people begin getting out of their cars to watch.

Tons of people take out their phones to record the spunky band who’s playing in the middle of the road.
Even if the traffic cleared up, I doubt anyone would be going anywhere with the free show that they’re getting. Moon Hooch leaves their van and starts walking down the road, staying in between the cars as they play their instruments.

The massive orange cone hanging out of the saxophone gives them a sound like no other band around.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, another variable is added to the mix.

A fourth person runs up from behind with his drums and joins the performance.
The four musicians continue through the traffic playing some improvised music that sounds incredible. The music they play is jazz fusion, which was developed in the 1960s and is a mix of several different genres.

After walking past loads of cars, Moon Hooch finds a little clear spot where they stop to finish off the hilarious performance.
I bet this was the last thing they expected when they woke up that morning, but we’re glad it happened.

Moon Hooch plays one grand finale before traffic starts moving again and they run back to their van.
The last-minute of the performance is filled with crazy melodies and funky sounds, and Moon Hooch doesn’t hold back as people gather around them to watch! When it looks like traffic might resume, the band has no choice but to get back to the van. They go out in style, playing music all the way back to their tour van.

Moon Hooch is supposed to be on tour right now, although with Covid-19 crippling the live-show scene that’s probably been a very complicated situation.
Their traffic-jam performance was a hit on the internet, music lovers everywhere watched them rock out in a literal “traffic-jam-session.”

The spunky traffic cone performance has almost been viewed 1,000,000 times, with 31,000 people liking it.
What an amazing thing to see—we wish stuff like this would happen to us in traffic! Be sure to check out some more of Moon Hooch’s music on their YouTube Channel.
It’s not every day you get entertained by a live band during a traffic jam, but these lucky drivers were in the right place at the right time. Keep an eye out for Moon Hooch playing in a city near you—you never know, it might not get canceled.
