Moms are the best, right?
Honestly, I have no idea where I’d be, or who I’d be if it weren’t for my mom. She’s the coolest mom around. But I don’t know if she’d ever do a dance off with me!
This mom totally just earned a lot of cool points with her son and the kids at this high school.
In December 2017, Ginny Jenkins and son Scott competed in a school talent show and their performance had to be the most entertaining one of the night!
Ginny works as a guidance counselor at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the talent show took place. The talent show even had a great cause that it benefited, the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
In their performance, Ginny and Scott made their own “History of Dance” routine. Much like the skits that Jimmy Fallon has done on The Tonight Show!
They danced to “Uptown Funk,” “Macarena,” “Cotton-Eyed Joe,” “Jump On It,” and so much more.
“I thought it would be fun to do a little dance. I conned my son, who also likes to dance as much as I do, to do it with me,” Ginny said to WCNC when interviewed. “If you asked most of our friends, we’re the dancing goofy ones in the family for sure.”
While Scott added to the interview: “What you saw was nothing out of the ordinary.”
Scott doesn’t attend the high school (in case you were confused), he is an accountant at the Charlotte Observer. His mom asked him to join her at the talent show and he was more than willing.
This video has gone massively viral since it was first shared. The original video has over 37 million views, while another version of the video has over 9 million views, almost 200,000 shares, and over 180,000 likes on Facebook.
Thousands of people have left comments on the video praising the mother and son for their performance.

Another commenter found the video great and called out the people who were making comments saying that their dance moves weren’t good:
This is great!!!! I can’t believe how many people commenting are actually missing the point of what they did!!! It’s called FUN people!!! Not about being perfect at dancing or having talent, it’s about spending time with your child & enjoying them!!! I hope my son feels this way about me one day!! I would definitely do it.
Many mothers commented on the post, saying they hoped that their children would do this with them:
I could only hope my son would ask. I do daycare from home to stay with him now. He’s only four Months old. But I hold him while the other kids nap and we dance. I’ll come running from another room and bust a move too. He just giggles.
