The undisputed King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is deservedly regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century.
On top of it all, he’s one of the greatest entertainers in the history of music. Jackson earned 13 Grammy Awards, as well as a Grammy Legend Award and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his phenomenal live performances.
We seen Jackson shimmy, moonwalk and do all kinds of iconic spin moves.
Jackson was lauded as the greatest performer ever—and below is just one awesome video to back up the obvious.
The video is just a drop in a sea of Jackson’s performances during The HIStory World Tour in 1997.
The tour included 83 concerts worldwide and was attended by approximately 4.5 million fans. Just as it was in every other country, Jackson’s concerts in Germany all sold out.
In July 1997, the King of Pop came to Munich and Olympia Stadium filled with thousands of fans eager to see the living legend. Watching the video of “They Don’t Care About Us” doesn’t even come close to capturing the magic of Jackson’s live shows, but it’s still pretty incredible!
The song was performed as part of a medley with “Scream” and “In The Closet.”
Jackson planned a DVD release of the concert, but it was canceled due to his dissatisfaction with the behind-the-scenes filming. Even so, this performance is one of the most televised concerts ever.
The scene looks fabulous, and the effort that was put into organizing the whole thing is quite obvious.
Everything is on point: the light, the sound and special effects, with two large screens on both sides off the stage. In the middle of it all, Jackson wears his shiny uniform with metal badges.
It’s interesting to know that Jackson wears custom-made shin guards plated with 18-karat gold.
When the song begins, Jackson is in the center of the stage.
Accompanied by four dancers who also wear uniforms, Jackson marches across the stage. The atmosphere is heating up, and the best moment is when the cameras show the audience. An ocean of people is moving in the rhythm of the song, their eyes glued to the superstar’s every move.
It’s incredible to see the late Jackson in action.
This is one of those videos that will catch your attention and will leave you asking for more. The elaborated choreography, excellent sound and great lyrics will capture you completely.
Now we understand why Michael’s 1993 performance at The Super Bowl XXVII halftime show was one of the most-watched events in American television history.
Although he’s gone from this world now, society still cares about Michael Jackson’s legacy and seems to debate it endlessly.
As a performer and musician, Jackson holds 12 Guinness World Records.
The world lost a man who put a lot of effort into humanitarian work and bringing quality music to people. The highest caliber was his—Jackson simply ruled the scene for over four decades.
We’re proud to have videos like this, to remember him the way he deserves.
Even though he’s gone now and the details of his life can be debated over and over again, what’s clear is that his music will affect the world for years to come. Jackson’s music and style have already influenced artists of various genres and will continue to serve as inspiration.
