Music and talent can be found literally everywhere. Apparently, they can be spotted in a Walmart’s toy aisle, too!
A couple of men who looked like regular shoppers at a Walmart were there to do more than just shopping.
Clay Shelburn and Zac Stokes were roaming the toy aisle at a Walmart when they spotted a guitar with Pixar characters on it. The toy guitar was made for kids, so it was smaller in size and it had Lightning McQueen on its exterior.
Clearly, this guitar is more of a toy than a musical instrument. But when Clay picked it up and started to strum, he transformed it into a real guitar!
In the video uploaded on Clay Shelburn’s account on YouTube, the man showed how a regular toy guitar can be used for music.
The small guitar looked even smaller in the musician’s hands, but it sure did not sound like a toy at all. He started to play to the tune of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Pride and Joy”, and that’s when the impromptu performance began.
Clay sang as he strummed, and after a few chords in the song, Zack joins in and started to sing. Their duo is definitely a talented one!
Clay and Zack went to Walmart at 3 AM.
You might be wondering why there were no shoppers behind these guys as they sang or why they looked like they were alone in the video. That’s because these guys decided to visit their local Walmart at three in the morning.
Yes, you read it right. Actually, it was not such a bad decision because this little stint they did at the toy aisle made them the Walmart Rockstars!
The Walmart Rockstars went viral because of their performance.
Clay and Zack were dubbed as Walmart Rockstars, and their video went totally viral on YouTube. As of this writing, the video on Clay’s channel has reached over 8.4 million views. How cool is that?
Because of their viral performance, Walmart even invited the Walmart Rockstars to sing “Price and Joy” in front of no less than 1,500 Walmart managers. Of course, they had proper instruments by then.
It was an unforgettable moment for Clay and Zack.
The crowd enjoyed their number and treated them like they were rock legends.
“Walmart AMP is an awesome amphitheater that was built last year. Cool to get to play there! This little guitar made a big splash for Zac and I. Haha thanks for watching,” Clay shares.
The video uploaded in 2013 has given these guys an opportunity to rock it out, not only in Walmart but also on other platforms.
Their viral early morning performance at a Walmart toys aisle has earned them fans online. They have been known as the Walmart Rockstars and people online were requesting for them to perform some more. In 2015, Clay uploaded a follow-up video to share their story.
