Andrea Bocelli has graced the world with his heavenly voice. A voice that Celine Dion called God’s singing voice, or something to that effect. And we’d have to agree with her.
Sadly, time does catch up, and while Andrea still sings, his age means time is ticking. So thank the heavens his kids inherited his musical talents.
His son, Matteo, has an angelic voice to go with that angelic face.
And just like his father, Matteo celebrates the holidays with his own renditions of Christmas songs. He’s got the voice for it and dad surely gives him his blessings.
This is the young Bocelli’s version of “White Christmas”.
Now if you’re wondering why the song has a slow, soulful, almost lonely feeling to it, that’s because the song was written by Irving Berlin. He was a Russian-born immigrant who did not celebrate Christmas, since he was Jewish.
It’s sad because Berlin’s son died on Christmas day in 1928, so every year on December 25, he and his wife visited their baby’s grave.
Then you have Bing Crosby who sang the song just a few weeks after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Young Matteo keeps the melody, playing the piano as he soulfully sings the classic tune. He’s got a beautiful background which paradoxically brightens up the feel of the song.
He seems to smile more than his father during a performance. Matteo knows it’s the age of social media where every single movement is scrutinized and criticized. It’s also Christmas, so smile!

He’s only 24 so expect so much more from Andrea’s singing son. By the looks of it, Matteo is more than willing to follow in his father’s footsteps. The world will have more Bocelli for decades to come!
Matteo may be singing that same melancholic melody but his handsome smile and that background does bring a smile to a viewer’s face. If anything, it just makes one long for home with family.

Matteo’s rendition of “White Christmas” comes at a time when nothing is certain. Where lockdowns and restrictions still hold people back from celebrating like they used to.
But remember, Christmas is also about hope.
