Getting a big break, unfortunately, doesn’t happen for everyone. Yes, it’s so important to chase your dreams, but sometimes it may seem like that winning moment will never come.
It’s the folks that push through those hard times that end up with the gold.
British magician Matt Edwards is midway through his thirties, but he still hasn’t given up on his dreams. He’s at the age where it really is go-time, the time to find your moment of truth.
Right on the verge of his big break, Matt takes to the Britain’s Got Talent stage in the hopes of winning the hearts of the judges.
When the judges hear his age and the fact that he is a magician full-time, the looks on their face give away their doubts. They figured that if you haven’t made it at this point in life, then there’s a slim chance that you have what it takes to really make it big. You can see Simon thinking about reaching for the red buzzer before he even gives the guy a chance.
What sets him apart from the rest of the magicians out there? Well, his act has more of a variety show element. When he starts off, you can tell that it’s going to be a little out of the ordinary.
It takes a minute for the judges to see how clever the whole thing is, and man, Matt really knows how to captivate an audience!
It’s clear that he’s full of talent, and that so far on his path he just hasn’t found the proper break. As the show goes on, the judges, the crowd, and hosts Ant and Dec can’t stop laughing.
Matt is just a ball of energy, and his flair comes from his fearless sense of humor. The joy radiating from him as he puts on the show is palpable and makes it all the more enjoyable to watch.
When the performance is over, the judges have nothing but kind and supportive words for him. Simon even tells him he’s got exactly what they’re looking for from contestants on Britain’s Got Talent.
But the real treat doesn’t come from the judges, not this time!
When the hosts Ant and Dec come out from backstage, cross past Matt, and walk down the steps towards the judges’ table, Matt knows exactly what’s about to happen.
This is proof that if you really believe in what you’re doing in life, you should stop at nothing. There’s no telling when you’re going to run into the right people at the right time.
For Matt, this opportunity is life-changing! Finally, the world knows his talent, and he’s able to bring joy to so many more people with his lighthearted magic act.
